NFCU, just joined, how should i app?

Just joined NFCU (finally), tonight or tomorrow I'm going to run thru the CC and CLOC apps.

Before I do I have a few questions:

1) Does time of day matter? If they are all manually approved by an underwriter, I guess during business hours are better right?

2) Does it matter if I run the apps thru the website or over the phone?

3) I'm assuming the whole (ask for 25K or if I'm auto approved for less than, request 25K to have them counter the highest possible) method still works?

4) Should I be worried about denial? Stats below...

UTIL 85%

Negative Marks 0

Total Income 146k

Scores Low to Mid 600s across TU,EQ,EX

Your utilization is extremely high. You should lower it to less than 35% before you apply.

I wouldn't expect an approval but If by chance you do get approved I wouldn't expect much.

Forget about apping for now until you get utlization down. Once that is done, you can apply anytime and ask for the maximum amount. As things stand and going by utilization alone, you might not get the amounts you are seeking even if approved.

Hey guys sorry, should have been more clear.

I'm looking to consolidate all of my util into a single card or account. Can you recommend any products they may have that I should app for to accomplish this?

And yes my util is the main thing brining my scores down!

Good advice so far. Maybe if you give a brief rundoen on what you have and bslances on each card can the Navy gurus give abit more pointed advice. I think all we see is 85 and we all scream for icecream. A little more backstory might help with better suggestions. Congrats on joining Navy by the way

I was denied last month because of high util and mine was much lower than yours. App upon joining and got 4 total HP from NFCU with one CC app.

I would do what I am doing now, and should have to started with, wait until util is 1-9% before the app.
