Is this good? Amazon

I applied for an Amazon store card through Syncrony today.

After completion of my application I got a that my application needed to be reviewed and i would be notified in a few days.

"Thank you for applying for the Amazon.com Store Card. If you have provided us with your email address, you may receive a response by email within 4-5 days. If you have not, you will receive a response by mail within 7-10 days. For your records, your reference number is: xxxx"

Ive been in situations where this was a denial. But it seems different. Ive read that having a reference number is a good sign. Is this true?

Call them, it may be a verification issue. Do you have any other cards?

No offense OP, but if that is your current TU score in your post most likely it is a denial... You might have to build up your creidt profile for awhile longer whether it is gardening or another method. Best of luck on the outcome regardless!

Who knows though if you got a reference #, that might not be a flat out denial and might be verification? I am not that famililar with GE/Sync lending practices.

I found their number and gave them a call.

I was instructed by the representative that I was denied. I asked to be reconsidered. He transfered me to another department.

I was informed by the second person that my app was denied and she would see if she could get it relooked at. She put me on hold for second. She came back and informed me that my application actually wasnt "denied yet" and it was already pending a manual review.

I am more confused then ever. Will update.

Ok, just to confirm, your CH7 discharge was less than 30 days ago and those scores listed are recent FICOs correct?

My tu is 584, ex is 527 and eq is 504

Ok. I just don't recall seeing anyone getting approved for the Amazon store card with those scores and fresh out of BK. Of course, weirder things have happened.

Im honestly expecting denial. Im so anxious to rebuild tho. I only have one secured capital one card. Cant get anything else.

I'm in the same boat......try fingerhut (request a catalog FIRST, for preapproval)...

I want to app for Amazon but I am scared of my scores. I hope you get it so I have some hope! haha..

And weirder things HAVE happened as previous poster said... I got approved for Overstock.com for $500 two days ago. And I almost fell out of my chair. (Shopping cart trick)

I would not apply for cards until your scores are all over 600 unless you get shopping cart or an offer for unsecure capital one card.

save your INQ's for as you get a little more rebuilt.

I agree! You have one card already, use THAT to rebuild and go from there. You don't NEED multiple cards to START a rebuild

I agree.. Save the hardpulls for when your scores are better as they stay on for 2 years. Bank of America has secure cards and after a year, it can be made unsecure. Rebuilding takes time but you can get those scores up within a year to higher 600s if not shorter.

I'm not really too optimistic about the decision here. You really need to get your scores much higher than they are now. All of my Sync Bank apps have been either instant approvals or cases where they want verification over the phone and when I had no history and I had tried applying for the Amazon Store card, I automatically got denied back then.

Yeah if you go online request an a catalog after making an account with all your info (kinda like the shopping cart trick) once the catalog come there should be a preapproval on it -- or you can buy something small first and ask for the freshstar program but that's a HP I'm sure...
