The Waiting Game - Chase Ritz Carlton Visa Infinite

I applied for the Chase Ritz Carlton Visa Infinite card on January 15th and I was given the "30 day" message.

I have called the automated system line to check the status of my application everyday and I have tried several different numbers; All of them say "We will notify you in writing within 30 days.". I did call into Chase on the first day and I spoke to two different people. Both of them said that there is nothing that they can do besides let the application run it's course. "It will be processed in the order in which it came in. They have to work their way through other applications in the system until they get to yours." is what I was told by one of the CSRs.

My EX score is perfectly fine; 720+. Clean file. No lates. Very clean. EQ and TU are frozen. They did pull EX from what I can see. I have never had a card with Chase, and so this would be my first. I am over 5/24, but this is a co-branded card and from what I have researched, Ritz is still not affected by 5/24.

*I also applied for the AMEX Blue Cash Everyday card the same evening (afterwards), and I was instantly approved.

Hopefully I hear something back from Chase soon. The wait is driving me nuts.

***Good energy, good vibes for an approval - I did add the Chase Ritz into my cards signature already. Lets hope that I don't have to remove it.

FWIW my CSP app last year said 30 days for 6 days until approval. You could I guess try calling the verification department directly to see if that is holding it up.

Having said that, I would just keep waiting as you have been. I am going on day 8 now since my Chase Fairmont app, and it's been saying 2 weeks the entire time so you are not alone.

I don't have an approval yet. Posting the card in my signature is confusing. In my original post I mentioned the fact that I already added the card into my signature even though I don't have a definite answer yet. I am hoping that I do not have to remove it.

I think you drive yourself crazy. It is just a card. You would realize that after you got some CC rejections. But good luck with this one. You should get it. Ritz is not a hot CC.

ehh, When standing in front of a high-end M property, I would choose it over any other card in your Cig. My AF is $395 - $300 AI = $95. lol, I think I made that x 2 on my first upgrade. Great card OP, Enjoy!

Sure enjoy it. But Ritz card is at the very end of my wish list. I do not spend my own $$ to stay at Ritz. We spent $9,000 over the past holiday vacation, but I did not spend just for the CCs I carry. No way I'm going to spend $600+ for one night of stay.

To me, the $300 travel credit is near worthless. I already have CSR lounge access. CSR $100 credit on Global Entry. Only thing valuable is the $100 airline credit. Of course if I book 5 family round trips, I get the AF back. But it is a IF.

Also, you got it wrong that the AF for Ritz is $450 now, not the $395 you are still thinking.

I'm proud of all the CCs in my signature. It is so bad that you are in the league of your own. Enjoy nevertheless!

My situation is unique. I travel extensively for work and I expense everything I spend. I use my personal cards for work. I don't pay anything out of pocket. I am very lucky in that sense. I earn a ton of rewards/cash back, etc... for personal card use even though everything I spend is technically paid back to me by the company I work for.

Sure, for a person with a very thin file a year ago. FICO 6xx (640), rebuild, lates, AAoA less than a year. Only two credit cards. Capital One card with $500 limit. That CL was not even enough for one single Ritz Carlton stay. And utilization 12%, on a total CL of $2,500.

What am I missing????????

How did you accumulate all 46 Ritz Carlton stays on your personal credit cards with a total CL of $2,500???? That was about $30,000 Ritz spending through your personal credit cards, as you claimed.
