Barclay Visa Apple Rewards Odds of Approval?

Hey guys, I am still pretty new to credit. Started up in October actually, when I bought my car. I've read a few questions similar to mine, and see that they like to pull TU scores, which mine is a 627. I have 2 inq on it from when I bought my car. Can anyone tell me my odds of being approved? I would really like to get a new phone but paying that full price.. Not really looking forward to that.

I've got a pull from 2015 when I tried to get a contract phone with sprint. No cc history or collections. Just inquiries.

I am assuming your score is a FICO score? Barclay is all over the map honestly. I will say this, if you get declined make sure to recon as Barclay is very good with recons.

It actually isn't a fico.. It's a credit karma tu. I think I'm gonna get a secured cc and have that for a few months before I apply. Don't really wanna get a hp of my shot isn't very high

I would urge you to attempt getting an unsecured card first.. It sounds like you have very little HP's and most likely don't need to worry. If anything give Capital One a shot as they are very easy for first time credit card seekers. Good luck

For a clean file, with only a car loan reporting, your FAKO score seems on the low side. Please don't confuse that score with your actual credit score that lenders use, there can be a HUGE difference

You should probably go to credit check total dot com and sign up for the one week trial for $1 - that will give you your real scores

As it has already been said, Capital One might be a good place for you to start. Barclays is so all over the place that they can be hard to figure, plus, they are not the most mentally stable bank either (lots of AA to members on here)

Also, MOST secured cards will result in a HP

Another good one is to try Bank Of America, for a cash rewards card (unsecured) - they might counter you with the 99/500 offer if they won't approve.

Barclay very recently denied my ultra credit-worthy daughter an Apple Visa. Needless to say, she was shocked, embarassed, and refused to try recon. Like you, she had a couple inquiries from an auto purchase, plus another for a personal loan. Perhaps that's why? Personally, I think she dodged a bullet.

I"ve been reading forums similar to mine and read that Barclay Apple is very helpful when it comes to recon so it might have been worth a shot for her...but also read that ymmv. I really wanna get the iphone 7 without dumping all of my money into it at once, but i don't think i should risk it yet. I'm gonna try capital one secured for a while and see what i can build from there before i go for it...

Scroll down on that page. It's a soft pull and won't affect your credit. Usually pretty solid and will give you some kind of base (not knowing your Fico scores).

Quicksilver sometimes has a 0% offer and you can buy your phone with that and pay it off in 9 months while adding some green marks on your reports.

I've loathed Barclay for a few years now, but do know they can be very good for recon, and did urge her to try. My daughter, understandably, is gun shy now, afraid of being rejected again. Frankly, they may very well have approved her on recon. Her income is good as is her credit. What's strange is that, prior to becoming assistant manager of the credit union she works for, she helped people rebuild their credit! lol

Try the prequals at Capital One to see uf you can get an unsecured card first. It may not have a high enough starting limit to purchase what you want, but you never know ...

I wouldn't waste a HP on any Barclay card. I am not a fan of Barclays. I have the Apple Visa and Arrival and with a low score if you get approved your APR will be really high. No cash back so the card really has no use. GO with Capital One or heck, even Discover prequal is an option.

nothing wrong with Barclay, I was approved 3K. TU score Fico 703 no baddies. Walked out with a iMac lol Like anything the reward is no interest for me for 2 years until its paid. Pay it off and be good.

Call the recon number. They are pretty easy to deal with. With no bad things on your report they should approve you, IMHO
