BofA CLI on Recon ?!

Hey all! I have the BofA Alaska Air card, approved in October for $1,000 -- got a CLI to $2,000 one month later. Today, I asked for a CLI to $10,000, as i've already had heavy paydowns and the CL is way too low for my travel needs (currently traveling as a travel nurse). The analyst pulled my credit and came back and said she could not approve the $10k but would definitely approve it for $5,000!! (Not my highest CL, but still nice) .. Then she said it was going up for final approval to her boss, but she "was very confident in her decision" ... ??

Anyone see this before? She said any CLI on recon had to go for final approval, and they only submit them to SR MGRs if they expect approvals! FICO 8 is 679, was only a 656 on approval in Oct. She noted my low overall UTIL on cards and great paydowns as her reason for approving to $5k. Ive found BofA to be by far the best with recons!!!!

Well here is hoping -- anyone ever recon a card or CLI with BofA ? Results ? She did say she will call me today or tomorrow, or I can look online for the increase.

Oh last question (maybe) lol were the requests both so or hp? I never used my Alaska card and was told it'd be a hard pull by banker

*just* reconned for a Cash, had the same thing. Same statement. It was approved. Wonderful lady. Very pleased.

When I was reconning my Cash Rew, I was shot down my their management team, even though I had a reccomended approval from the lady I spoke with.. I ended up taking the offer they gave me which was 0 down, $500 CL and a $39 AF, if they don't remove the AF and unsecure (even though it doesn't have a security deposit, it's handled by their secured Dept) by the end of the year it's getting closed!

All cosumer requested CLIs are HPs from BofA. I bank with them (also with NFCU) and have a CC from them, too. Just recently requeste a PC and it went smoothly...although it takes 2-4 weeks to complete...sigh.. It takes 36 hours with NFCU......

She stated the same thing, she saw no reason to not give me a chance, however it needed a Supervisior's final approval. 48 hours later I was approved. So far, I'm impressed. I like to think BoA is like Chase, not score related but what's in the report matters more.

Sounds like FIA Card Services at work. I've reconned with them a couple of times and each time it had to go to senior analyst for final approval. I've gotten final approval on mine that were recommended for approval. I had a coworker who got a recommended CLI approval from 3k to 8k but senior analyst reduced that to 5k for final approval. What is FIA card services ??

I just called back and talked to a senior analyst, she said "I'm going to approve you now for the $5000. She put me on hold and came back and said I'm fully approved for it now but because they were just closing, it won't reflect on my account until tomorrow ? Overnight perhaps ? I'm confused. Last CLI I got with them it took. Awhile after final approval too to show up as updated. Seems to be a BofA thing.

Vicky said I am fully approved lol -- I sure hope she really did "fully" approve me !

I'm so confused lol - I sure hope Vicki the senior analyst really fully approved that! The waiting game with BofA is no fun, although it usually works out nicely

BOA is strange but I like them very much. Had a low limit card opened 9/15. Since it was a joint account, and my coapplicant was taking a HP for their cash rewards that I am an AU of, I decided to also take a HP.

Computer offered 6.1k for the limit, and after calling in she said they'd approve the full amount I requested. I was confused as to why I had to wait 24-48 hours for a call back to confirm it though. Very strange indeed.

Callied in last night and spoke ot another analyst (Vicky, mentioned already) - she said she was FINAL APPROVING it, and said it would be avialabe today. Well upon waking, still not there -- called in, the analyst said ti still was in FINAL REVIEW and needed a manager sign off....came back after 10 minutes with the dreaded "After final review, the CLI request is decline and will remain at $2000". I nearly flipped, as I had a hunch this was going to happen -- I hate secondary reviews. So, I sternly said "Im sorry but I am not accepting this, as TWO analysts approved me and the last one point blank said THIS IS YOUR FINAL APPROVAL!" She spologized and got her manager to look it all over .....

ANDDDDDDD.....

5 minutes later she comes back and apologizes, and says her manager has OVERRIDDEN the denial, based on the 2 analysts approving me, and the $5,000 is available immediately !!!! RECON SUCCESSFUL with BofA!!!! ALWAYS fight for what you feel you deserve people ... there will always be that one jack@ss who wont approve you because they had a bad day, are tired, or just feel like denying someone ... ESCALATE !!! Logged in with analyst still on the line, and BOOM: $5,000 !!!! :-)

Now off to get my airline tickets ! :-) All's well that ends well lol
