Another Penfed cli denial

Ok im in one of those moments we all come across sometimes in this zany credit world. Perhaps someone will talk me off the proverbial ledge, though it may be too late (youll know why by the end of baby rant ,lol)

So since im in process of having my Equifax issues fixed once and forall, i figure while i have it open, id try to get that one cli id like to have from Penfed for my lowest cl , Promise Visa at $500. In the last year ive tried like 3 or 4 times with and without recon, all to no success. I tried again last night to test the waters. Logged in just now to find out that yet again denied due to, from the description , i gather too much credit or something like that.

I just wrote them a sm informing them i would like to know how i go about closing the card. Its quite obvious that theyll never give me any kind oc increase and i truely feel it has to do more with my income then credit i have. I understand you can have too much credit in regards to income but when they tell you in the begining they want to see some history then you give them history ( i know its short but still history) and they still dont want to reward your good credit worthiness, its just disheartening. All my other creditors have grown with me and i told them as much. I plan on Bting the remainder of my personal loan away as soon as i find a reasonable way to do so. Im finding i may be on the opposite side of how many people view CU'S. Low income does not equate to good experience with them . Ahh, sorry folks forgive me tonight, just one of those days and any comments good or bad are welcome, ive been here long enough to know we all gotta take our wacks once in awhile. Penfed sucks, they denied me for too much credit 1.5 mil.Also if u join them with dirty profile they keep you there for like ...ever.Hey at least they didn't give me 500 bucks and keep me stuck there ill be more pissed off..lol

Hey AJC! Sorry to hear about this. I truly understand your frustration and commiserate with you.

I'm not sure what is happening with PenFed and why they are making the decisions that they are when it comes to your profile. I truly don't have much insight as I am not a member with them yet. I've stuck with NFCU and Allliant as my credit unions.

1. One suggestion for PenFed:I was reading on here about the survey that some get and are able to recon through the survey and see great results. Have you received one of those before? Have you tried that route?

Hey AJC I'm sorry ,I know EXACTLY how you feel , this is how it has went for me with my Navy Fed . It really sucks , I hope you can get some resolution soon to your liking .

Thanks guys. Yes i did get a survey at the begining , even got the call where they were as polite as ine would expect. Got the whole history spiel which i understood. But when you tell me one thing and show me another, i dont like that. I believe now what ive heard before if you go in with dirty profile, youll most likely be bucketed. What truely tops the cake, i finally can see my Eq on CK, and yes the hp me so i know they saw my profile is clean and im not sure of my Eq Fico and next gen but my Eq faki hit 738, thats even higher than mt TU fako ever reached. Im just gonna check it up to experience and hopefully Navy comes through in time . If not , not gonna lise any sleep over it ill just have to use banks as my main cc hubs

Aaah AJC, that sucks, especially now that they see you have a clean profile. How frustrating!!! Sorry! Hopefully NFCU will come through for you as they have so many others. But if not, I try to think of it as their loss in a way. Like you said, you will use banks as your main cc hubs. Let them get the swipe fees.

Have they replied to your SM yet? Sorry about the CLI. I'm not familiar with them or the card. Maybe you can app for a new one in the future? Or do they tag your account and you get stuck at this profile forever? Maybe it's the name...try AwesomeJoeCredit

I hear you, AJC. I opened up my membership with them around Christmas 2016 and was approved at 22.5k for one of their credit cards and I do have a used car loan with them as well. I attempted to received a CLI but they denied me saying that I "presently have maximum open-end credit" 😷

I guess I don't understand how they "judge" someone with a lower score, higher utilization, greater number of cards and lesser annual income coupled with a lower amount of time with said employer, how that person(s) is deemed "worthy" of having a higher credit line than what I was pursuing. Yes, I did go there and yes, I'm ok with being verbally throttled lol.

I am sometimes amused by what people share because of what they have 'heard' and we sometimes apply that as a shared factual experience. Sometimes hearsay isn't even really hearsay. Sometimes it's just words being shared and not even based on my or your mileage varying based on our experiences.

AJC, going back to you. I did open up a Navy Federal card account as well and for me, it started relatively low but on my first CLI they did not hesitate to reward me. Your scores are better than mine and I just know that greater opportunities will literally LEND itself to you and you'll just get to the point you'll be saying NO, NO, NO sounding like a negative Santa Claus in July. I want to get there eventually but stay encouraged and keep posting for us that love seeing your progression.

Thanks everyone. No doubt Spaghetti, i understand your view as well. Heck , i was really rooting for K-in- Boston to get taken good of with Navy and Penfed because i knew his/her profile and income supported having the best credit has to offer. My main beef i guess is im not given the chance to allow them to become one of my mainstays. As low as my income is , even for me $500 cant do much as i wanna practice the great credit habits ive learned and picked up and not over utilize a card. Not much room to breathe with that limit.

I actually just received a new Penfed survey as i checked my email on my lunch break. Im gonna complete it now and will let everyone know how it goes. Thanks again family for the support

Good luck I'm rooting for you AJC and hope the survey gives you some resolution. 500 is definitely too low to do much of anything with . That's why it's so disheartening for me with my Navy fed cc . 9 statements now have cut with no improvements. I mean if they would just cave a tiny bit I would be happy but it seems it's either all of nothing with them

I have to scale back my cc collection anyway just sad it had to be a Penfed card and not s Sync card. Ahh well, the beat marches on. Aduke, im not sure, i have a message waiting for me at the site, ill have to read it. Perhaps itll say how to close. I could just pull off my Netflix and let it it die on its own. I could app another card to Bt my loan off but i really dont want anymore cardd. Perhaps ill use my Boa card as they have been really great to me even with limited experience. Ive used up some hps with them but at least i get positive results. Ill update you guys after i read the message. Hopefully it doesnt sour my mood tonight lol.
