Eh, I don't know. Way back in my young and impulsive days, I burned BoA for a goodish amount of money (about 3k, ugh, and I'm not proud of it).

It's been FOURTEEN YEARS and they still won't approve me for a thing. Not even with 700+ scores. Some things just can't be forgiven, I guess.

(Not that I'm upset over it - I never liked dealing with them in the first place, but still.)

Just curious what the qualifications are. I have credit cards with Chase totalling $15k, a $5k line with a CU, store cards with thousands of dollars in CL, DIscover card for $2k, yet the only thing BofA can offer me is a friggen secured card.

I bank with BofA as my primary bank, but I can't help but feel like I should move my acount over to someone who can feel comfortable to lend me credit. Weird feeling.

My credit is in the 30-40 percent range in utilization with a Experian credit score of 667.

What are your thoughts on this, and what has been others experience with getting credit from BofA?

The APRs currently stink on both (they're currently my highest behind my AMEX Blue Sky, most of my cards are around the 13-16% APR, and they're 18.99 and 19.99%), but I'll see what I can do to get those down soon. I have around a 750 FICO score, though, according to Discover, Barclays, and DCU.

I was approved with the Cash Rewards CC with no credit history at all. Oddly enough (and this was me being 18 years old and not knowledgeable about credit and hard inquiries), I put in an application for the Visa Signature at first and was given the 7-10 day message or something like that. I then applied for the Cash Rewards Platinum Plus (not Visa Signature) and got the same message and ended up calling BoA the next business day and was told I was approved for the BoA Cash Rewards Platinum Plus for $700! I already had one hard inquiry from Citibank about 5 months before that.

I'm not sure and I could definitely be wrong, but I think I was approved because I had over a years worth of checking and direct deposit with BoA.

I think you have a decent shot. BoA has been good to me. If you bank with them they're good about approving.

It could go either way... Most likely with a 667 experian you have some baddies.. Depending on what those are is probably going to determine the outcome

I just got approved for the BOA 123 card on November 17th. I had to recon to get it. They originally pulled Experian where i have a charge off reporting with a score of 673. I called and they told me it was denied due to the charge off reporting. I asked if they could pull Equifax since no charge offs are reporting on there. They did and approved me, with a small limit of 2k my score in Equifax was 749. On Thursday the 20th, I called and told them I was approved for the card and didn't want the BOA 123 instead I wanted to see if I can get the Better Balance rewards card instead. The CSR checked, came back 10 minutes later and said the conversion was complete and to expect my BBR card in 2 to 4 weeks. She also told me to activate and use the BOA 123 card when that arrives, since the BBR card would take 2 to 4 weeks to receive
