Okay, so I recently applied for the Freedom card ~3 days ago a little sooner than I planned because I also want the USAA Limitless incase they take it away, but I am at 4/24 right now. When I applied I got the 30 day message, and the phone system said 2 weeks which got me very excited. I let things ride out, but then the phone message switched to 7-10 yesterday which made me figure that it was an address verification (also a good sign), but I am moving and making settlement on my house in 7 days so I called in because I would be unable to recieve any letters that did not arrive within 5 days.

I was correct, it was just an information verification but then something terrible happened. After verifying my info with that department, they said they would foward me to the underwriters for a descision (bad news), so as soon as I got transfered back to the underwriter department the person instantly told me I was denied because of too many cards with chase recently (3 in past 8 months). So I asked if she could reconsider my application as the reason for these rapid requests was because being new to credit I knew the cards that fit my lifestyle and want to get the applications done asap so they all fall off my report at the same time to put me in the best position for when I get a mortgage in the next year or two (this is true). I have 4 cards open, always pay balance in full, let statements report utilization sometimes, and have 700+ scores. She came back and said that they couldn't approve it because it is too many chase cards too soon. She said they need to see how I handle these 3 for awhile longer before giving me another. So I said okay and hung up.

I called back later that day to try and get it reconsidered again because it sounded like the first woman had her mind made up from the start, and I got a woman who was truly an unhappy/nasty person and yelled at me. Apparently every time I was transfered on the first call (for address verification) showed as a new call to them. So she said I already called 4 times trying to reconsider and am heavily seaking and that it looks terrible (I only called 1 time before to let them know I was moving and would not recieve the letter that they sent).

Should I call back again in a few days or just leave it be?

Current cards with them are CSR, FU, and amazon prime rewards visa. Also have an AMEX BCE

Ummm...no...don't call back..or at least I wouldn't. You have asked for reconsideration and I feel they gave you a pretty good answer of just letting a little time pass by with responsibe use. Also because the lady told you this "So she said I already called 4 times trying to reconsider and am heavily seaking and that it looks terrible" would tell me I should not call back to ask again. I am not saying you shouldn't do what you feel...I am saying I definately would not call again....good luck on whatever you decide!!

She got my the CSR and FU

I'm not sure about "power", but there have been folks on this forum who have been denied through Chase via online application and went in branch and got approved. I've never done this, so can't speak on personal experience unfortunately.

Also, my SO applied for both the Chase Marriott and Chase United cards on the same day. The UA card was approved but the Marriott one was denied. I had him call recon and ask to request a credit allocation from one card to fund the Marriott. That's all it took and he was approved!
