I know they aren't fully accurate but they are from credit karma. I'm not sure what site I should use to view my actual credit scores not just reports. As for my fico score I checked it though my Wells Fargo and discover card.

I've currently been looking for a new card that would benefit me for traveling. I've posted before and thought about applying for the capitalone ventureone but held off.

I am in school full time right now have a part time job so I don't earn a lot right now (about 20k) my longest credit card has been open for a year (Wells Fargo) and my newest one has been open for 6 months (discover) both cards just gave me a CLI without asking. I've never had any late payments and always PIF. I keep my credit utilization under 10% and have never had any deragatory marks.

I was wondering if I'd have a better chance at applying for the capital one ventureone card or perhaps the citi aadavantage platinum card. My study abroad trip is coming up so I do need a card with no FTF and I also plan on taking a trip before I leave. Any other suggestions would be helpful

My scores are as follows: 740(TU) 753(equifax) 738 fico

Have you tried the CapOne prequal page to see if the VentureOne and/or Venture pop up? In any case assuming the scores on your signature are accurate I think regardless you should be good apping for the V1.

OP, what is the source of the credit scores you provided above?

Also, from what I understand, the Capital One Venture is not a "real" travel card.

If you want a good travel card that doesn't have a high AF, as stated above I would recomend the Arrival+ or the Venture. Both have AF under $90 that are waived the first year, both have good sign up bonuses, no FTF and both offer 2miles/$1 on all purchases. I don't have any expeience with the Arrival+ but the Venture has been a very good card to me over the last year.I travel through Europe and Asia 11months a year and never had any setbacks/issues with the card.

The venture would be a good card I just don't think I would qualify for the venture or arrival + with my income, which is why I was looking at the aadvantage and the ventureone

Not from me, as I don't travel and have never had a use for a travel card. I have not even researched them since I know they'd never end up in my wallet outside of a sign on bonus. The only reason I scooped up the Chase Sapphire Preferred was because of the $500 bonus, for example.

@Anonymous.

I qualified for the Venture card a year and a half ago and my income at the time was around $45k. While I was not able to get a five figure SL, I was able to come in at $5k. If your scores are high enough, it could help you get a higher limit. At the time of my approval, they pulled EQ 05, TU 04, and EX 03. Not sure what they are pulling now.
