When it comes to Amex, APR isn't something to worry about. This is the one card company that prefers you to PIF every month. Think of every card they have as a charge card.

If you're pre-approved for the others. I'd wager you'll be fine with the BCP. Amex cards grow really fast..as long as you are PIF every month.

Hi everyone,

So I'm pre-qualified for the Amex Gold, Amex Green and EDP. The EDP is at the lowest possible APR range that Amex offers, cool right? I'm pretty happy about it anyway. But I'm not really interested in the above 3 cards. I want a cashback and I don't really want a charge card right now. What I really want is the BCP. I went incognito on Chrome and was able to get the $250 offer to pop.

So here's my question before I apply: Since I am pre-qualified for the EDP, are my chances of getting a solid SL and low APR on a "cold app" BCP good? I don't want to get stuck with a high APR $500 limit card.

I'm also mulling over taking my CFU prequal but I may wait on that to make my 0% APR coverage more spread out, and get more history for a stronger card with Chase. I may opt for the NFCU Cashrewards instead. I'm kind of wracking up a lot of 1.5% cards at this point...but my Quicksilver is nigh useless with my $500 limit.

Ouch. One of the reasons I want the BCP is their 12 month 0% APR promo because I was going to make a roughly $2000 purchase on it and pay it off over about 6 months to lessen the immediate impact of it on my current finances. I have a stready income, I just prefer to pay things off incrementally if I can. Would that behavior effect my relationship with Amex?

My BoA cash rewards is 0% APR until February but my limit is $2900 so I didn't want to max it out.

Ah yeah, I see in the CLI thread that they'll deny you for not PIF. That's a little hitch in my plan, BUT if I apply for this card and increase my total credit availability the purchase won't hit me as hard. I'm really low on available credit so my current credit goal is to quadruple it. I don't ever plan on purchasing anything more than roughly $3k at any given time and I'd make a payment on that immediately so it'd be more like $2700.

@Anonymous wrote:

My daughter applied for Delta on July 4th. Fresh out of college, only 500 Cap1 card last two years with school loans. Her Ex was 71x, with 2.4 yrs AAoA. Instant approval for 10000.

I received invitations from AmEx but only with 150 bonus. I used internet explorer, chrom incognito did not work for me, and applied for 250 bonus for BCP. Denied and had to recon to get 10000. That means BCP underwirting creteria might be different?? or they use other requiremnts for larger offers?? My Ex Fico 8 was 734, but only 6months AAoA
