Capital One Credit Limit Increase Denied

Happy Friday MyFico members!

I requested a credit limit increase after my 3rd statement on my Plat card but was denied. The credit score they gave as a reason for denial along with past derogotories in my credit report is old. My credit score is now roughly 70 pts higher. Is there anything I can do? Will they recon?

I don't think they'll recon. But you're not resetting any clock if you're denied. If your score has increased, give Capital One's system a few weeks to catch up, and make another request.

Thanks for the advice. I will wait and try again next month.

I wouldn't waste your time. My score increased 200 points and I got denied at 5 months for too many inquiries. Then a week later I got my steps increase. Seems this card is a dud. If you want more credit limit get a different card.

You may be able to PC it before six months. Just call and ask.

And they won't recon increases.

They can just look and see if it is eligible. May also try MyLoFICO's link in his thread. It's very rare forCapOne to HP for anything but new apps, and then they go overboard.

I called and was told to call back Sunday since that day will be my official 3rd month with them and may get offers then. As of today, there were no offeres.

There's a link you can check - I forgot it, unfortunately; does anyone else know? - where you can look to see if there is an offer to upgrade your current card. I got my Platinum upgraded to QS (no AF) last month after the 3rd statement cut (I attempted a CLI around the same time but no dice).

Weeelllll... #1 I'm afraid of rejection...#2 I'm still early in my rebuild although I have made great strides...#3 Don't want all the inquires. I have roughly 5 on EX and 8 on TU and EQ...#4 I was just approved for the AMEX Delta Gold last night so I don't want to get too greedy

Okay so I found the MyLoFICO's link and when I logged in it says:

What could this mean? What offer? I've never received an upgrade offer and my account is not in default, restricted or closed.

Just to be slightly helpful, cap 1 computers seem to be a month and a half behind. I always wait a couple months after a score improves to ask.

Just to be slightly helpful, cap 1 computers seem to be a month and a half behind. I always wait a couple months after a score improves to ask.

I wouldn't call it faking it, moreso, keeping positive thoughts. Besides, one day soon that moniker will become a reality. Thanks for the slightly helpful tip.

I tried for a few months and kept getting too many inquiries message. I think it was the 3rd time about 2 months after the 1st try that I finally got the CLI. Still had the same amount of inquires pretty much.
