It was a SP for me, they needed me to get a notorized copy of my SS card and some other stuff, haven't even gotten a chance yet. They say it would be auto decline if not done by 2 weeks, I'm going on 3 weeks and it still says pending

Wish I had seen this thread. I app'd last week. Declined for CC and then requested photo ID and utility bill for proof of address which I just uploaded - they going to decline me for straight membership too? Based on what? .... HP for me.

I've noticed that most November approvals have been with CS in the 700's and denials have been below 700 but if the applicant has multiple lines of available credit even if they are above 700 they seem to be denying as well with reasons like 'excessive available credit' so really its a crap shoot.

800 across the board here... Denied for too many accounts and inquiries. They asked for a notirized ss, utility bill, and gov issued id mailed to them... Just for verification for membership... Back to penfed it is

You were denied credit or denied membership? ..... My reason for card decline was the same "Denied for too many accounts and inquiries" despite less then 5% utilization ... also asked for gov issued id and utility bill. Guess I should have app'd at Penfed instead - silly me

Yeah the NASA FCU gravy train died a while ago unfortunately. I remember getting denied for rapidly accelerating debt even though my utilization across the board was under 10% and that was when they were giving people 30K limits like crazy even a few people who had some BKs on their report too I think.

Since then, I closed my checking account with them and probably won't be doing any further business with them either.

I got approved for membership with a sf but then denied for cc both times with a sf even after recon, reason: excessive amount of available credit,

Glad i walked away without a hard inquiry

I applied on Nov 05th for membership and cc and was approved for membership and denied for CC because my score do not meet credit union guidelines. Emailed the lending department and was approved for 10k CL. Still waiting for card to arrive. I guess I was lucky to be approved before ship to sailed.

3 years postk chapter 7 approved nasa for 20k...it was a nice train

Applied on Oct 25th and got instant approval on membership and cc with no documents. No hard pulls on either. I might have slipped through before they shut off the valve !?

I apped on the 23rd of NOV and was approved for a $5K CL. I had to send in two paystubs. I sent them in right afterwards. I did send an email asking for a higher limit stating that I wanted to do a BT. We will have to see how it goes. I plan to call on Monday to find out what is the status of my CL. I still have yet to see an alert for a HP only time will tell i guess.

DH applie don the 18th, and I have to say I am getting really frustrated with them.

On the 19th he got a message that they needed proof of residence, which we immediately uploaded to their system. Doc 1 was his DL, Doc 2 was 2 pages, a water/sewer bill and an electric bill.

On the 22nd, he got another message that the document was not legible enough. I checked and the DL one was a LITTLE fuzzy, checked the other docs and they looked crystal clear. Re-scanned the DL (better), uploaded both that and re-uploaded the utility bills.

He called to check the status on the 26th, they tell him his account was flagged as potential fraud application because one of the credit agencies says he's a "Jr" but that's not what he put on his application. We had to fax them a copy of the dispute letter we sent to the credit agency asking them to remove that Jr name because he is not a Jr and never has been.

Today, the 28th, he gets another message that two proofs of residence are required, please upload a second proof of residence. He replaied asking them to please review the PDFs he sent and to please clarify that they are not looking for a FOURTH proof of residence, in addition to the DL, the water/sewer bill and the electric bill.

SERIOUSLY, this is getting beyond silly. About to throw in the towel on these guys.

The ship hasn't sailed for me..I was approved for 30K card yesterday.

Nasa will approve you if you meet their profile..and give you a generous limit. I think people thought that they

were just handing them out to everyone, which was not the case.

I have a 779 credit score. I hit the wrong button when apping for membership with NASA so I did not get an instant membership. They sent me through several hoops before I finally got approved for membership. I must have called them 6 times to get them to look at the documents I had submitted. Our lease is electronically signed and that wasn't good enough for them. Utility bills are in my mother's name so that was a no go also. I never apped for any credit because I am waiting on a targetted pre approval even if it takes a year. I used my account to get my mother in the door and even with great credit and a really nice income hers is still pending after a few weeks. Hers was not an instant thing either. I got instant approval with SDFCU and Alliant. Not going to apply for credit cards before I let my new ones age a little.

Congratulations on your approval and generous credit limit. May I ask which CRA they pulled from and your scores? I'm thinking about applying.
