Another Chase pre-qual mailer

I mentioned in another post that I received a Chase pre-qual mailer a few weeks ago. I decided to just apply outright for the CSR when Im under 5/24 in a few months.

My SO received the same mailer, but has burned Chase 9 or 10 years ago. I told him to go for it, what does he have to lose. Anyone have any thought on whether he should go for it or not?

Only way to find out if ones on the bl is to app. Worse that happens pick up a couple hps and the knowledge no soup at the moment

He pulled the trigger. Got the 30 day notice and an email notice stating it can take up to 30 days. He called application status line and they said 7-10 days.

Doubled pulled EX and TU.

Nope, that's not a good indicator. Chase will still pull your reports even if you are blacklisted. Just another reminder that these mailers are 99% of the time pure marketing but a declined application certainly isn't that huge of a deal as sjt indicated.

Yup- Irish80 is right. Chase pulls credit regardless, unlike Amex.

Because the mailer had a set APR and Opt-Out verbage, Im inclined to think that its an actual pre-qualifer and not a marketing mailer. The approval is a crap shoot, but either way its data points for the family.
