Shopping cart trick SCT

Just wondering what companies you can do a shopping cart trick with?

All scores are around 660-680 FICO. No baddies. AAoA is roughly 1.5 years.

Cap one: $1250
MSGCU: $1000

Just got approved for chase yesterday so it's not reporting but that's $2500. Also have an auto loan.

You already have 3+1 that will be reporting and keep in mind, your AAoA will drop below 1 year if you add a SCT card to the unreported as yet Chase. If there's a specific SCT card you want and will use going forward, by all means go ahead and snag that sucker then let your accounts age a bit.

Just look up SCT 2017 for updated lists.

+1 and not all SCT are SPs...that SP could turn into a HP months later.

I say dont even bother with the sct as you already have cards with decent limits.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm just looking to get one retail card. I have those 3 and I'm waiting to hear back from FNBO since they manually review their app

That's what I thought my scores are good enough to not do SCT. But rather be safe than sorry lol

SCT doesn't help with EQ screwed up scoring. I recently opened a card using the SCT and there were no HPs on my credit reports. However, when the card later reported to EQ with my (very low) account balance, EQ score dropped 4 points. It was just about the same as if I'd had a HP on my account.

BlueBonnet, that's interesting. Wonder if maybe that low account balance possibly still dropped it a few points but you'd think having a low balance would do the opposite?

The balance was $150 with a CL of $7,000 and my overall utilization was 1%.

Sometimes the credit gods just want to mess with us and drop a bit for no reason lol. 1% util and drops is weird

3 months ago I asked for a CLI on one of my cards. This resulted in a HP on EQ. That dropped my score 39 points. My util was 4%. I don't call that a bit of a drop! And I've been paying on time, mostly before the statements cut.

Oh **bleep**. Yeah that's more Than I expected. Don't worry last year I paid off a personal loan and scored dropped from 690s to 630s just from that. I knew I'd take a hit but wasn't expecting it to be about 60 points

60 points seems a lot for paying off a loan. And yet you'd think you'd get more brownie points for lower your debt exposure.

60 points yes. was trying to get over the 700 hump for my auto loan I have currently. Anyways any decent store cards with SCT out there do you know of by chance? I'm just looking to add one of those to what I have and let everything garden. Was looking to just apply for EXXON Mobil gas card.

I got Overstock using SCT. I suggest you think in terms of what stores you frequent.

Many of the store cards give low limits like $300-500, and aren't real good about giving large CLI.

Overstock gave me $7,000 right out of he gate!

Oh nice. I have thought about overstock myself, don't shop from there often but if I'd do SCT for them I'd use it. I know store cards like that don't give higher limits but wouldn't mind taking a gamble on overstock. Looking to get my TCL above $5k for the accounts. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Hi. I'm new to this board and had tried the shopping cart trick several times and got nothing. Tried it again tonight with VS and got the pop up. I filled in the info and it said approved and when I went to check out the option to pay with the card was there. But I was shopping as a guest and wanted to sign in. So when I did, and went to check out the option wasn't there. Of course, I don't have the card yet so have no idea of the number so I guess I will have to now wati for the card. No problem with that. But, I hope I didn't screw anything up! Any thoughts on this? I was told I could call a certain number an order with the card over the phone, but he (chat representative) didn't have access to account info. But, it was very neat to see the offer pop up. Now I'm a believer!
