What Is The RECON Process for PenFed Cards?

Hey just joined PenFed. However when applying for their Power Cash and Promise card, and a 28k used Auto Loan, i got denied and the reasons are:

LEN OF TIME ACCTS ESTABLISHED
PROPORTION OF BAL-TO-LIMIT TOO HIGH
SERIOUS DELINQUENCY

My FICO 8 EQ is 717 with no baddies. Is it possible to call and recon? If so what do i say or ask? If not via phone do i email? If so, still what should I say or ask and what info do i enclose?

I am not a Penfed member, but I have seen several forum members state that they were able to successsfully recon by sending a secure message from their online accounts.

Stating why you think you deserve a second look at your request. You can talk about how their products meet your needs better than other banks, or how you've worked hard to improve your credit scores in hopes of being approved by them. Whatever you think you need to tell them to sway them towards an approval.

You can also ask them to explain the denial reasons you were given, like "SERIOUS DELINQUENCY" when you have no negative items on your report.

You can send a secure message asking for a recon of the application. You should get a standard message advising they received it and someone will call you to discuss the application. You could also call and speak with them directly. There is also a third option, the one in which i did last week to recon my power card, is to fill out the survey, you can state the reasons why you feel you sbould be approved, etc. Make sure to click that you would like someone to contact you back. I got a response within 48 hours.

Hi Kevin, it should be emailed to you within 24 hours of the application. Which is what happened to me. Gl, but maybe calling in tomorrow would wotk for you.
