So upon research I saw that with my previous credit history I might have a shot of a good card. Well sadly I was denied, first by chase who said that equifax was reporting a bk and that's a flat out denial now. Then next Discover It who said something about late payments. So what was weird was out of the 3 cards I applied for only one of them ran my credit or resulted in a hard pull and that was chase. I'm just wondering how did they deny me if they never pulled my credit. Also chase said they re ran my credit and the bk on equifax is still showing but I can see on my reports that its gone and I didnt get another hard pull. Anybody experience something similar?

So, what about the late payments Discover brought to your attention? Do you have recent lates? On top of your BK? What reason did Cap1 give you for denial?

I suspect you have newer baddies since your BK. It will be tough, as you are finding out, to be approved for much if you have recent baddies and a prior BK.

Sounds like you're blacklisted. The banks put you on their "don't give this guy credit no matter what" list. They didn't need to pull your credit report cause no matter what it said, they don't want you as a customer. Did you include them in your bankruptcy?

If those dates in your sig are accurate, your bankruptcy shouldn't drop off your reports for some time yet. From all the research I've done, CHASE usually auto declines if you have a bankruptcy, so you have to call and have them reconsider. I know a few people have been able to get in a few years post discharge if they have an agressive rebuild. When was your last late payment? I know with Discover people say your mileage may vary. As far as Capital one they have been very good to me, but some other people aren't as lucky.
