    <description>&lt;P&gt;FWIW a lot of folks "forget" to unfreeze hoping they don't get an HP when they do app.&amp;nbsp; Sync isn't going to overrule what their computer tells them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you want this card, wait a month or two, unfreeze ahead of it, and app again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi guys,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can you advice me please?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I applied for a PayPal Mastercard, but forgot to lift the credit freeze on my credit report. So the application got denied (a supervisor confirmed this).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(I do have excellent credit)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Now I've lifted the freeze, but can no longer even access the application. When I click "Apply Now" (which normally brings up a form to input your info), I get:&lt;BR /&gt;"We are unable to process your request for the PayPal MasterCard."&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any idea what to do?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Over the last 3 days, my experience:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Talked to PayPal (got routed to various departments).&lt;BR /&gt;- Talked to Synchrony (the card issuer).&lt;BR /&gt;- Talked to supervisors at both.&lt;BR /&gt;- No one has any idea what needs to be done.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Different reps/managers told me to different things:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;-- Wait 30 minutes.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;-- Wait 24 hours.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EM&gt;-- "You need to create a new PayPal account".&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- One of the challenges is that there are two institutions involved (PP and Synchrony), and they keep redirecting to each other.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- On one call, a (helpful) Synchrony manager did a 3-way call to PP, and the PP rep transferred the Synchrony manager back to his own department.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- I think it should be a simple process to let someone apply again if the application is denied due to a credit report freeze.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've never had such an experience, so would appreciate any feedback.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Perhaps with other issuers this would not be a problem but with Synchrony usually whatever the computer spits out thats what they go with. And having 2 different companies on 1 card compounds the problems. Main lesson here is when applying for credit make sure that the issuer has access to your credit report. Sometimes people do this on purpose in hopes of achieving other means which i wont mention but is something to be remembered.</description>

      <description>You might consider just waiting 30 days and re-applying with your reports unfrozen. As AJC said they will just go with whatever the computer spits out, unfortunately Sync frontline employees aren't very empowered.</description>

I don't think I'd apply again, after seeing their ignorance and incompetence first hand.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Btw, I fully agree with you, if someone "forgets" to unfreeze, the application shouldn't go through. That's the right action, no problem there. But happens next is a different story. Even if they told me, "Our policy is that if you are declined, due to our not being able to access your frozen report, even then you can't apply for 12 months." I would understand that, no issue. But one of the supervisor responses was, "we didn't even do an inquiry on your report because we couldn't see it, so you should be able to apply again right away .."&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;And, for comparison:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Someone I know also had a freeze when applied (another institution), the same thing happened and the application didn't go through. Got a call from the bank to explain what happened, and was told which bureau to lift freeze from. Did that and called back, and while on the phone the application was approved. Took 10 minutes. Simple.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;(I witnessed this 1st hand).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;But PP and Synchrony:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- They couldn't even tell which bureau to unfreeze. From different reps I heard: Transunion, Equifax, "we use all three".&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- On the 3-way call, the Synchrony manager told the PP rep that he was a manager for PayPal CCs, yet the rep transferred us back to the manager's own department. It shows how much they are really listening.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- One manager asked me to call the next day, I asked if I would have to explain everything again. Reply: "No, we keep detailed notes". Next day when I asked them to review the notes. Reply: "We don't have any notes because you don't have an account."&lt;/SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;As B stated safest if you wanted card is to wait 30 or 31 days and re-apply.&amp;nbsp; Best of luck whatever route you decide to go&lt;/P&gt;</description>
