After going through Barclay's identity verification, just got a call from security saying that I am APPROVED for $1K.

Well, it's a start, and less than 2 months after my first Barclay card was approved, so no complaints from me.

4% back on Uber Eats coming soon to my account...

After about 18 applications and 12 approvals this year, I finally had a bank ask for verification.

I have the Barclay Red Aviator AAdvantage, approved about 6 weeks ago, but was very interested in the new Uber Visa, so I applied. Got a message about them not being able to approve, 7-10 day letter, etc.

Expected just a denial letter, but got one asking me to call in to verify some info. Expected them to want income verification, but the just asked me to send in Driver's License, SSEC Card, and utility bill proving my address.

Hmmm, wonder if she really meant it when she said, "We look forward to doing business with you." :-)

This is probably due to the "Customer Identifaction Program" that all financial service providers are required to have as part of the U.S. PATRIOT act.

Usually, they are able to validate your identity through noninteractive means (existing accounts, public records, etc.) However sometimes they have to reach out to the prospective cardholder.

I actually had a shutdown on a USBank Secured card because of this, it was restored to nomal after said information was provided.

Same thing happened to me when I applied for the Apple card. I thought it was a denial, but I got a letter in the mail asking for the same verification info. I mailed it in and about a week later I got a call saying I was approved for the card.

Yeah it's a tedious process, but it's still an approval.
