US Bank Platinum

I applied for a US Bank Platinum VISA through a direct mail offer. My primary account is with US Bank. Through the online process, my application was approved and the message says that I should receive the card by US Mail in 7-10 business days. Is this the same message that I have read here in the forums that essentially a denial?

No, your's said you're approved. The 7-10 day message is one where it doesn't say you're approved it just says they need 7-10 days to review or you'll recieve a letter in the mail in 7-10 days.

US bank does manual applications most of the time. But i sure sounds like an approval. Good luck. 🍀

I have had a US Bank Cash Plus Card for a year and a half and am happy with US Bank and their customer service. I was checking online for Prequals with the major banks and US Bank was the only Prequal I had.

I was Prequalified for the Platinum Visa at 18.99% APR which is not bad. I have mostly been going with rewards cards lately, and this card does not offer rewards, but it does provide cellphone insurance, which is a nice touch, and good card benefits other than rewards. What I liked most is the 20 month APR at 0% for purchases and balance transfers. I have no negative information on my report and my credit scores are still in the very good range, but my other big bank cards stopped sending me Balance Transfer offers. I don't know why. Again, I pay my bills on time and always pay extra.

I have really liked US Bank and I am sure I will like this card. I also like that their customer service is US Based. I got an instant approval for $9500.00 but after reading these forums I called the Reconsideration line and spoke to a very nice CSR named Lisa about an increase to $13000. She could not immediately approve the increase but from what she saw she thought it would be approved and it was. I called a few days later and the nice CSR told my my new card with a $13000.00 limit would be shipped within 24 hours and I am very happy with US Bank.

They pulled TU. I am not sure what my TU FICO is, but my Vantago 3.0 Score with TU is about 758 - I have TU credit monitoring and they provide the Vantage 3.0. If I can get a recent TU FICO I will post it also but I am not sure what model US Bank uses and the score was not on my welcome materials. I am not sure if I can call to find out what it was, but I don't want to keep bothering them. Thank you US Bank for a good experience.
