Amex Pre-Qualify changed....

I was interested in the Amex Blue Cash Awards. I pre-qualified on their website for it a few months ago. Now, as I was getting closer to actually applying it is only giving me the Everyday card, Gold and Green Card with a 15.99% APR. Does this mean I missed the chance for the blue cash awards or does it just depend what they're pushing at the time?

I’m pretty sure if you can get the ED, you can get the BC.

Apply for the one you want.

I did the prequal site last friday and it showed i was prequal for everyday cash and blue cash. Applied for both and got approved for both.

I had the same on my page, applied for all three and was approved. Turned around and applied for BCE (Approved). Go for it!!

Bhill40...you applied for all three Amex cards the same day? Were there multiple hard pulls on EX? Do you mind sharing more info, I applied for only two but wanted to go for three!

It is probably just verification. You can wait it out a day or two, and call them up, they might just need to verify some personal data from your credit report and your phone number. Once you get through that, they should hopefully be able to give you a decision. All the best!

Amex prequal has not been accurate in my case. Last year, when my EX was much lower (like under 600 low), it showed I was preapproved for a couple different cards. Apped and was instantly denied. My EX reached 673 a few weeks ago, so decided to check their prequal. I was not preapproved for anything. Cold apped the BCE and was instantly approved.

I was prequalified for Everyday and Blue. Applied for both back to back and was approved instantly for both.

I was preapproved for the Every Day card and was approved when applied a moment later. I didn't wait. Since then I have obtained a few AMEX cards, but each was due to a site promotion saying I was preapproved. My experience has been good. I think you have to act on it as qualifying can change in a moment. Even promotions can change.

I do recall apping for two revolvers and two charge cards in the same day and got approve for all 4, and cost me one HP. Every card that i look into it states that i am preapproved. I was declined once due to being with the 90 days! Just recently received the Plat w/ the offer for POT!
