Really bummed...Lowes denial

I just applied for Lowes credit card and was given 7-10 notice so I called and the guy said the application was filled out correctly but he was sorry but couldn’t approve me and I would get a letter in the mail as to why. I have 711 trans 701 equ and I have 720 Experian so I don’t know. This has shattered my confidence so back to the garden for the rest of the year. Any ideas on how to improve?

I have 5 cards and my newest was PayPal 2% last week SL of $4400.00

Which areas of your credit report aren't ideal in terms of scoring? Do you have negative items like late payments? Is your utilization high?

I’ve applied for Lowe’s 3 times over the past 5 years or so. Denied every time. Guess they don’t like me much. My DPs are good I thought. Oh well I’ll keep shopping at Home Depot.

I can't get a card from synchrony anywhere! I've been denied for the lowes card and anywhere else that synchrony is behind the card, so I've given up on even trying if I see their name.

OP - do you carry balances a lot or pay in full (PIF) each month?

I do both. Sometimes pay in full sometimes carry a balance for 2 months. I will wait for the letter and see the reason.

All of your accounts are relatively new and none are over 2 years old. Most likely they want to see more history. Are there any other accounts on your credit report besides the ones listed?

You have a couple new accounts. Let them age for about one year and you should be good to go. It's isn't all about the score, there are many factors which play into a decision.
