Hi,

Does anyone know if Alliant requires income verification or at least most of the time for their Visa Signature card. I have a few hard recent pulls on my Experian report (Chase Freedom CLI, Citi Double Cash application, Citi Double Cash CLI) though none of those appear on my TransUnion and only the Double Cash application is on my Equifax.

It's my understanding Alliant pulls Equifax for membership and TransUnion for the Signature application, which would work out for me since my Experian score has imploded (FICO 8 from 815 to 781). I would like to apply but won't bother submitting income verification documents.

Just as an FYI, when I asked Chase to raise my limit on the Freedom card 4 years ago they asked me how much I wanted, though this time they didn't ask and gave me what they determined. I should have protested to see if I could have gotten more.

I’ve applied with them twice over the past year. Both were TU pulls and neither asked for POI

Alliant (as I have recently found out) is very thorough with their applicant review. I applied for the Visa Signature early Monday (yesterday) requesting "As much as Alliant will allow" for the CL. Their response was a few hours later saying I was approved on my 790 credit score for $10k and 11.49% with a contingency that I provide POI.

I immediately provided last 2 paystubs (pretty common POI), but they came back today asking for my 2017 W-2 as well. I provided that and a few more pay stubs since I have nothing to hide. I am still waiting after passing the 24 hours mark a few hours ago.

Needless to say, unless you have a >800 score and/or previous account history with Alliant, you will most likely need to provide a versatile POI. If you apply, be honest about your income...

UPDATE: I was approved. Took a total of ~28 hours, but that is with me being on top of all POI requests and sending ASAP after request.
