Kohl's Credit Limit Increase Ceiling

I got the Kohl's credit card about 2 years ago. I consistently got credit limit increases every quarter until the last 2 quarters; it grew from $300 to $3000.

However, the last 2 quarters, I keep getting denied; this time it says "We are unable to grant a creit line increase at this time because you have the highest line of credit that our policy allows."

Does this mean that I have the highest credit limit that they will give ME, or is $3000 the highest CL Capital One gives for Kohl's credit cards PERIOD?

Just curious. I should probably stop asking for CL increases anyway. :-D

Current ceiling seems to be $4k - it changed in the past year, as it it used to be $3k

Thinking about it though, it's really hard to spend $3-4k at Kohls. I shop there often and at this point I've probably acquired everything of their that's of interst to me and it's maybe been $1k in the last year.

Maybe they just don't see a need for folks to have that high of CLs given the data they have on how much people spend there.

We have a$3k limit, don't really shop there much...I don't care for their clothes, it seems like we buy kitchen stuff and small appliances. Most recently got a carpet steam cleaner, used multiple gift cards, a 30% off coupon, etc.

I doubt we've ever had more than $1000 balance with them.

im still trying to get a cli from the $300 starting limit we do alot of shopping at kohls

This was a hard card for me to grow. I went from $300 to $700 after a year. But I closed it out as in the end I didn't really need a store card like that. It may take years but you might be able to get it to 4K or whatever the new ceiling is then.

It took about 2 years to get it from $300 to $3000; and I could only get one increase per quarter, no more.

My motivations for getting the increases are my own ego and also I don't like to spend more than 10% of my credit limit at a time. Though by now 10% is $300 and I've never spent that much at once.

I can see it being either, although I would tend to think it is a CapOne policy. They are known for strange things which they don't change until the courts/gov. agencies/regulators/etc. make them!
