Hi, my wife's vehicle is in need of some tires and mine as well, we just relocated from New Jersey to Florida so our budget is minimal. It was an expensive move. My credit scores are:

Experian: 562

Equifx: 528

Transunion: 539

yes they are very low but on their way up, just opened a secured credit card a couple months ago and it shot up 41 points.

(working on my credit with this card)

I wanted to know if anyone has gotten approved for card like firestone, tireplus or any tire place cc.

Thank You In Advance

I used to be a sales associate in the automotive service and want to ask you if you know how much thread you have left. You don't out of suddenly you need tires unless you hit a big pothole, knick the sidewall or somethingnlike that. Becuase if you can hold off and build up your credit up more than you'll have an upper hand. CFNA listings shows you the retailers who use their services for the automotive industry. I know that Pep Boys have their own and so does Tire Kingdom. The reason I say this is that CFNA although is a private label they do decline a lot of people I use to run credit for those. You can app online and see if you are approved but with your credit profile being a lite I recommend building it up fast and then app, just food for thought. Where in FL are you at now? I am originally from WPB and now I am in Orlando area.

Hi thank you . The thread on one of them is bad.. basically on its last life. I was thinking of waiting maybe 1 - 2 months to apply when i think my credit score would be higher. Im keeping my secured cc under 30% usage and i am also signed up to rentler to pay my rent and after april's rent payment it reports it to the 3 credit companies. And im in cape coral now

How much do you need to charge, and how long till you pay it off? If you pay it off within 6 months, then by all means go with a "Tire Store" card.

However, with their high 22.8% APR, I would avoid them. Especially if you dont pay it back within the 0% APR time frame. Not that 23% is very high on $600, but I hate paying interest.

And with your scores, you may or may not get a SL of $500-800?

IMO, you'd be better off trying for a differnt normal CC. Or just waiting until you have the cash, or maybe even a higher score.

I live in Florida. You can go and buy a couple of used tires to immediately replace your two worst tires. Should run you about $40 - $50 apeice. IF IF IF you only do local driving and absolutely PROMISE ( pinky swear ) that you wont drive on the freeways, you can get away with buying a couple of recap for like $20 bucks each.

Use the time to get your scores up

Used tires are NOT safe. Usually the shop selling the carries NO INSURANCE (not required fo an automotive business in Florida) and also, in the event that something catastrophic happens (READ - tire separates, and causes an accident), you have NO RECOURSE against the tire mfg....

Be safe.
