Chase account age requirement

Very quick question. I saw in a few places that chase wants to see a year of account history...is this true? Should I wait until the AAOA is a year, or just a year on my oldest account? I’ve got a thin file but want a freedom.

I've read a minimum of six months of history to a year preffered, for the best chance of an approval.

Also curious. I'm about to get to 1yr oldest account and 6-7 months AAoA. Last time I tried their prequal they couldn't find any offers so I figured that might be it...

A few days ago, I spoke to a Chase CSR and at the end of our conversation I asked her about the one year AAoA requirement. She stated emphatically that that is nothing more than an urban legend. Chase has no such AAoA age requirement, according to her.

That's true there is not such official requirement however the likelihood of someone getting denied for very short history is quite high with chase especially if that person is not their customer already.

1 year for your oldest account should be sufficient. Mine is roughtly 14 months. Just approved for 10400 discover as well as a 6400 freedom unlimited over the weekend!
