Hey guys, what are some good things Chase likes to see? Like what matters the most with them?

I really want the Chase Sapphire.

My scores are 670-685. My utilization is around 10-15%. My AAoA is pretty low at 7 months.

I have 3 credit cards (Barclays, Capital One, Us Bank) and 8 hard inquiries in last 6 months.

I think my 2 biggest concerns are inquiries and AAoA. I was thinking of gardening for 6 months and then applying. What do you guys think?

Also I know Chase has 5/24 rule, I have 3 cards now but have 4 closed cards in the past year. Will the 4 closed cards count toward the 5/24 rule?

I would wait the 6 months based on your "8 hard inquiries in last 6 months" and moderate scores - over 720 and they might overlook the inquires (possible with a recon).

IMHO, and based on the many comments and threads I've read here, I believe your AAoA and new inquiries are your two biggest hurdles. As previously stated, if your scores were 40-50 points higher, it "may" be overlooked. If you were to garden for 6 months, your AAoA would increase, multiple inquiries would ripen, and you can hopefully get your utilization at or below 8.9%. If those things do happen, I suspect your scores would be in the lower 700's and you would be in excellent shape for an approval. As always, anything is possible, but I think you put yourself in a much better position with the aforementioned strategy.

If you do not open any more cards, your first eligible date for chase card is May 1st, 2019, then May 2th etc..you get the point.
EQ and EX list 1st of the month as opening date, but TU uses true date, so wait till exactly two years.
