I lost my Walmart store card a few months back. The new account shows with the same open date &amp; CL as the old one, while the old one is in my list of closed accounts with the comment "card lost or stolen". When so called, the lady said that the main reason i was denied was because there is a disputed account in my Experian credit report. I pulled my Experian and my Discover It has a commend that says something along the lines of disputed card data. What happened is a few months ago I lost my Discover card and I was sent a new one with a new account number (on my credit report the new and old accounts show as separate accounts both with a comment that the old account was disputed).<BR /><BR />Why does my credit report show a lost card as a disputed account? And why is this causing me to be denied credit?
