Hello everyone. I’ve been without credit for quite a few years, paying with cash or just doing without. Late last year I started looking at my credit reports, cleaning up errors, etc.
At that point I basically had no credit cards, no installment loans, no mortgage. To try to get things going and improve my scores, I applied for and received a Milestone MC. I then read about the Shopping Cart Trick. I got that to work and hit the love button more than I should have. I now have 5 store cards(too many I’m now realizing). The store cards and the MC are all 6 months old. Have used and paid on the MC and 3 of the store cards.
I know my file is very thin but how long should I wait before applying for a better MC or Visa? Apologies for the longish post. Thanks.

The first thing you'd need to do is gain access to your credit scores. There are several ways to do so but the one I suggest is to sign up for the one-week trial for $1 at CreditCheckTotal.com (just be sure to call and cancel before the trial runs out). Once you know your scores on the three major credit bureaus you'd be in a better position to know which steps to take next.

Recommend you take a look at the Experian Site to pull your credit score. It will cost you like $4.95 for the first month with a 3 Beaureu score and a daily Experian score, then before the end of he month you can downgrade to the free offer and then upgrade again later when needed.

I second the Experian trial for 4.99 you also will get daily Experian score updates which is nice.

Welcome! Just wanted to also recommened the Experian trial. It makes life so much easier.
