I want to add Amex delta plat to my wallet. I’m a current member and have the “AlCo, you’re preapproved!” message when I click apply now. I have recently picked up venture (10k) and discover (10k) since mid-March.

I also just added POT for my PRG with a 10k limit as of today. Does this have any relevance on potential limit? My ED is 1k and I think I’m in a bucket on that card with Amex since my 61 and 90 day CLI requests were both declined. My current EX FICO is 675 and should update with Amex in 1 week.

My dilemma is as follows: should I wait until the elevated 60k (could get 70k) mile offer appears again (possibly around Nov. based on historical data?) I want to app soon so I can use the companion ticket for our annual cross-country trip, but the 30k extra miles essentially equals one ticket and we usually take our trip in June or July.

I also was thinking of applying ASAP so that my AAoA improves at a similar rate as my new cards, though I don’t have any big score-driven purchases (car, mortgage etc.) planned for the next 12 months.

I need advice. I also plan to channel my spend through the IT so that I can maximize cash back, but I’m ok using the potential new card to hit SUB and then letting it sit until I hit the 1 year mark with Discover.

This may be a YMMV situation, but if you have a friend that signed up during the 50k miles / $2k spend + 10k miles / $1k spend, their referral bonus for you should be for the same amount. I signed up for the 50k miles / $2k spend + $150 statement credit for first Delta purchase, and both of my referrals received 50k points / $2k spend + 10k points / $1k spend + $50 statement credit on first Delta purchase.
