Wells Fargo Propel Amex : Denial? (Update)

Have some major spend coming up the next month or so in helping with kids' college expenses so I figured why not get a SUB and 0% intro instead of just writing checks? Really a no-brainer no?

All the approvals I've been reading here with this newly relaunched card really got into me and got me all amped up again! And after a victorious instant approval with US Bank 6 days ago got me so psyched in thinking I might get another "instant" with this app, I decided to hit that app button again....

Nah.... It was an instant Pending! Lol

Most likely a denial as I never had a relationship with WF and they don't seem to like me at all.

They turned me down in 2016 via an EX hp with 711 F8 back then.

My EX F9 currently is 773 with 1HP and 1 new acct. in last 12 months (citi AA WEMC 02/2018).

Will just call their status line and update you guys.

Just wanted to post this for some more DPs regarding this card.

*** Never heard from them the whole day so decided to call the status line. Was told that the system declined my application "Due to the number of revolving accounts opened in the last 24 months." I then asked my app to be reconsidered. CSR said my app is now being forwarded to an UW for recon and that I can check back with them again tomorrow to find out the result. Oh well just as I suspected they historically really do not like me one bit! I'm writing this one as a loss now! Oh and I already got the alert from EX this morning for the HP and a 2 point hit!!! Now if I can just find my way back to the garden... Lol ***

Hoping that they just need additional information from you to process the app. It doesn't read as a denial. Goodluck!

Read similar verbiage in other threads that resulted in approval. Hopefully they just want to talk to you and get more identifying information.

I just got approved for the WF Amex Propel this week and I got the same message too.

They called me to verify my identity, income, etc. Which is super weird to me because I did have a bank account with WF for 14 yrs until 2 months ago. I also have credit scores of high 775+ of equifax and experian and 800+ on transunion. I have zero utilization and only 1 car loan for like $12K. Total Credit Limit is $130K+ And I have $180,000+ gross annual.

Didn't understand why it took 4 days for approval tbh.

They'll ask you the standard verification questions, address, SS# and birth date and income. Basically what you put on the application.

OP, that status splash page is standard for any applications that go into pending. The outcome can go in either direction.

Since it appears that you just submitted this today, it might be too soon as far as a decision being made, but you can contact them to check the status of your application if you wish.

I got the same page and mine was a denial. It's a 50/50 chance.
