So I went and did my last app tonight and really wanted a Nordstrom card! so when i applied before it was a straight denial! but this time it said to call a 800 to finish my app...

called spoke to a rep told him my info..placed me on hold came back and transf me to another lady who had to verify they had the correct social secuity number???? huh?? so I tell her she put me on hold only to tell me they could not offer me a line of credit? and i would get a letter in the mail!

**bleep** lol really ? has anyone expericed this? you think they had a hard time indetiying me?

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Said I needed to call in to verify. Called in put on hold for a while and asked me to verify my cell phone number (?!?) and then said, “unfortunately we can’t offer you a credit line at this time...”

Uhhhhhh, **bleep**?!

Never even got a letter in the mail and it’s been three weeks.

Love Nordstrom but I swear it makes me not wanna give em another cent. I mean, I’ve got some dirt in my profile so that’s cool, deny me, but don’t make me call in for some pretextual reason and then deny me.

If you do a search you’ll see that there are threads on this exact topic going back at least a couple years.
For the life of me I just can’t figure out Nordstrom’s angle in all of this.
I don’t even care really bc I don’t actually need the card except for wanting the accompanying discounts, it’s just so weird how they go about it.

When I applied in May I had to call in to complete the application by phone. At the end of the process I was approved for a $2,500 SL with a choice between the store card or the Visa. I chose the Visa card and I've only used it for two online transactions since approval. The SL was small but okay with me since it came at the end of a 7-card app spree.

Then three weeks ago I sent them a secure message requesting a CLI because a Triple Points event was coming up in mid-September and I told them I wanted to make a relatively large purchase but I was concerned about pushing my utilization above 30%. They responded two days later by raising my credit limit to $3,500 even though it hasn't been six months since I had the card and I never made it to the Triple Points event.

Excatley I did read some stuff and ppl had to go in the store or the letter said send Id and bill to them 🤷🏽‍♀️

I was denied for two many inquiries (5) on my Experian with my Fico at 660 but emailed Nordstrom CEO after dealing with rude Card services agent and received a call the following business day letting me know that they will be able to grant me an approval and apologized on behalf of that agent. I was approved for $1,000 CL and had a choice of store card or platinum visa and of course i chose the Visa. Nordstrom is a part of TD Bank and for some reason they think two or more inquiries means you’re a debt risk...tuh. My utilization sits at 1%

MY FIRST RECON AND IT WAS A SUCCESS!

Here's a thought, try the competition. I have shopped at both for years, and IMO, Neiman Marcus is the epitome of luxury shopping. Far superior to Nordstrom.

They are Capital One backed, and have much friendlier app requirements. Not to mention excellent CS.

I was instantly approved for $5k on 671 EQ - 2 Baddies. I do have an existing relationship with Cap 1, like most.
