Amex pre-qualified.. Is this any good? (100K membership points!)

I just checked the Amex pre-qualify link and got these pre-screened offers:

American Express Premium Rewards Gold Card - 50K membership rewards points

Amex Everyday preferred credit card - 25K membership rewards points

Platinum card from American Express - 100K membership rewards points

How accurate is the amex-prequalify link?
How good/bad are these cards?

Newbie here. WF secured $500, Chase Freedom $1200, 7 months credit history.

I'd say those are pretty accurate. I'd apply for one of the revolvers now and then go for a revolver in January. Lots of backdating potential there depending on whether your MSD date will say 2014 if you go for one of those now.

For the 100K I would jump on this card but Amex only offers me 50K for this one ... I am waiting for the 100K personal card offer !

Just to clarify, I meant app for one of the charge cards first. Go for the PRG since they waive the AF for the first year and then go for a revolve in January.

Almost the same for me, only had BofA Secured and Discover with $1000 each, at 7 months I got the same offers as you. Instant approval for PRG at 50K no AF first year and only had to spend $1000. I'm getting the ED on January. Last time I tested the spend thing I was approved for 12K, so I hope I can get the ED next month with a good SL.

I don't travel, so I'm looking on getting $500 in gift cards (some are at 1% points but others only 0.5% points).

99%. APPLY FOR PLATINUM!

and then apply for the Everyday in Jan. and get 1 year backdating!

So I thought about this a little bit, and the way I look at it, there's no way I'll be spending $3000 in the first 3 months on the platinum to get the 100K miles. What do you guys think about the Amex Gold PRG card? This seems to be more in tune with that I spend on, and the AF is reasonable (waived first year!) and 50K bonus should be easy to get since I will very likely and easily put $1000 on the card in the first 3 months.

One question

Given that I got my first card 7 months ago, followed by the Chase Freedom 4 months ago, would another application/account be considered high risk? Is this what most people would do?

I was offered the same, but went with PRG for the same reason. I didn't think I'd spend that much. Totally forgot it was almost Christmas and now I'm kicking myself!! Also, if you wait until Jan for the everyday, the bonus may no longer apply, since you will already be a cardholder.

I'm thinking the same thing. I looked up all the benefits on the Platinum and its not what I spend money on (no expensive vacations, moderate travel (on the cheap))

No, it will not be considered as high risk, just a person starting with credit and getting a card every 3-4 months to prove he can handle credit.

I say apply for the PRG lock your MSD year, next year apply for ED. Do the 3X at 61 days. Apply for a few more cards next summer. Do the 3X at 181 days. Decide if you keep the PRG or cancel the card (if you prefer no AF cards).

Remember, the offer will not be there for ever. I read another person that the offer changed to regular ones after a few weeks or a month.
