App for new AMEX on the same day as current AMEX CLI?

All,

Earlier today I requested and was approved for a 3X CLI on my current AMEX Everyday Card. I'm heavily invested in Chase and their UR point system, but want to start showing AMEX some love. I am pre-approved for nearly every card that they offer but have my eye is on the Gold card. Question....Seeing as though I just got the CLI is it possible to pull the trigger on a new card with a SP in the same day? Thanks.

You shouldn't have many concerns applying for a Gold card with AMEX. Very rarely does AMEX do a HP for current cardholders for any new applications and your recent CLI increase should not affect this.

OP, I wouldn't see why not. If you are pre-qualified for any of the selected products, especially the Gold Card, the CLI shouldn't matter with regard to the outcome.

It will be a soft pull and it be the same score and report as the CLI soft pull.

You shouldn’t have a problem getting approved !

Even if u get declined (doubtful) you will NOT GET A HARD PULL - so no harm done.

Last week I applied for an Amex Gold and requested my BCP 3X CLI on the same day, all approved with 3 locked credit reports. I called in to see if I was required to unlock and if so, which one. They told me that it was unnecessary to unlock my reports (I was all set).
