BBT - Denied for Inquiries/Util

After looking at threads here, I was under the impression that BB&T was not inquiry sensitive. However, I applied for the Bright card - was denied stating too many inquiries and high util. I'll give them the high util. As of right now, it's around 35%. That will be down within a month or two. Oh well, guess I'll try again in a year when some inquiries disappear?

Why didnt you wait to pull the trigger?

How many inqs did you have and who did they pull?

Each profile is different and they by law must spew out a list of denials.. I doubt inquries was the real reason you were denied as they aren't inquiry sensitive as I had 12 on my EQ in the last 9 months at the time I was approved.. Everyone profile is different, but I suspect between your score and utilization is probably what the real denial reason was and guessing some baddies exist on your report with the score in the mid 600's ? Regardless sorry to hear about the denial

As mentioned upthread OP, there's other underlying factors that BB&T may have considered in connection with your application. It happens.

Lots of threads may point to different CCs that most folks *could* be approved for with X number of inquiries and Y number of new accounts. However, bottom line, it's all profile specific.

I was approved for their Cash Rewards a month ago and I have several inquiries (EQ) + new accounts reporting in the past 6-12 months. That being said, my credit profile dates back 20+ years with FICO scores near 800 (depending on the month).

Yeah definitely don’t believe it was your inquiries. I applied 2 months ago with over 25 on EQ and was approved. Granted my util was at 10%.
