AMEX DENIAL

Wow. I applied for the amex magnet card today. Man i screwed up. I forgot to unlock my experian report. That was just stupid.I have been researching this card for 2 weeks, pondering whether i was going to apply or not, i didnt get a prequalify but i got a fair odds from ck. I know im not totally suppose to listen to them. but there were other sites i belong to kept suggesting that card also so after 2 weeks comtemplating should i go for it i decided today to give it a try at least they will sort of know me nxt time if i dont get it. lolol and my dumb a** didnt click the unlock button on experian.

Reason for denial... bk 3 years ago, that i had dismissed because i decided against it.

well i havent applied for anything for over 2 years so its my first ding. Still hurts me to my heart.

I figure if i could have got that card i would actually arrived. oh well. Ill try next year or something.

Thank you community for giving me hope after reading almost every thread on amex.Lolol literally.

I just got a 2000 credit increase from discover so i just continue celebrating that.

ex 664 tu 638 eq 623.

util 9% across the board.

bk 3 years ago.

4 baddies.

It's not the end of the world. Plenty of other lenders to pick from!

Hey thanks alot for the encouraging words. I do apprciate. was really disappointed, but was really expecting to get it. but it did give me some insight to what i need to look out for.

No problem. I know a couple of people who got pre-approve and approval for Amex card exactly 5 year post BK.

So after reading more on the backdoor number for recons, i thought about it for a while and decide. To hell with it give it a try! so im talking to the lady and she said the same thing it was because of a bk. but what was interesting is that she said because they took a lost from me in my bk. I was like what are u talking about? i have never had a amex card in my life other than a amex serve card some years ago. but i still have that acct and it has a zero balance in it. She said ohhhh ok. well im putting that in my notes and we will reconsider give us 2 buiness days, and we will have a decision and check into this acct with the write off. I said thank you. then i asked, will this be another hard pull? she said maybe not but it could. I thought about it for a second and said ok. It will be only 2 hp for the entire year.

so if they approve I wont have to apply for nothing else for a very long time. Ill have my discover and amex and visa.Im good. Keeping fingers cross and praying to the Gods Jesus, buddha, the celestial stars somebody please. lolol

It's good to know that they've decided to recon! It would definitely be great to have them turn it around and approve it, plus with no extra hard pull it would be great to get your foot in the door with American Express. I have a family member that has had absolutely amazing experiences with thema and I just got approved for the card but I'm looking forward to all it's benefits, as I'm sure you are as well! Hopefully all goes well and don't forget to update us here!!
