Uber Visa Card for Undergraduate Student - approval odds?

Hi all,

I'm looking into applying for the Uber visa card, but I'm unsure what my chances might be - I'm a little bit of a unique case, at the moment.

I have a Discover student card with a $1300 limit, and I've held it for 1 year and 3 months. Only other credit history is a student loan which is subsidized and not required to make payments for 2 more years. Always paid off my Discover card in full, utilization almost always below 30% (currently around %10). The Discover app says my score is 737. Total income is around $18,000, which mostly comes from a summer internship. However, in ~18 months when I graduate, I'll (hopefully) have secured a full-time job with a much higher income (in a STEM field).

I'm not looking for a huge CL, and I don't care about APR since I've never carried a balance and don't plan to, but what are my odds of just getting approved if I were to apply right now?

I'd like the card for international travel (since Discover isn't accepted widely overseas), so I'd like to have it before the end of this year, if possible. But also don't want a hard pull if my chances are low.

You should have a pretty good shot at it. Probably with SL between $500-1500 range.

My daughter is 18, she has been an authorized user on 2 of my cards for one year. She applied for Discover It Student and was approved for $500., next we applied for the uber card; she was initially denied because they said she needed at least one card before they issued her an Uber card. I called back a few days later told them she had the Discover card and they approved her for $750. Her income is $12,500. yearly from a part time job. Her score was 715.

I say you have a great chance of being approved! They are handing cards out to people in your generation.

I got approved with a $1400 sl after having the discover student card for 3 months. My fico score was around 718, they pull TU so I only had 1 inquiry form March.

You got better chances than me when I first applied. Instant denial, denial again after calling recon, then offered to move my case to another department and then approved for $500 with only 1 yr and 3 days worth of credit history. You got a year and 3 months plus that student loan. If you got denied, just call them and be persistent. I'm also a student.
