Amex CLI with two cards

hey everyone, I have two amex cards one is 3 years old with 1k cl and another is 1 year old with 18k cl.I am planning to request for increase in credit limit and i have some question.can someone help me on these?
1) can i request cli on both the cards?-- i hears that they are decling the second request

2) if it is not recommended to request cli on two cards-can i request 3x cli on relatively new card or should i transfer existing limit(~15k) from new card to old one and ask a cli from old card?

You may request a CLI on one card every 181 days.

To answer second question, might be useful to get additional details. Which cards, how long each open, etc. Have you tried CLI on your AmEx cards in the past?

You can only get the CLI on one card every 181 days. The 18K limit is already high though, so they may not approve the 3x CLI without additional information. You can simply request for a limit lower than 48K. Of course, you can also transfer the limit to the new card after the CLI also.

I have blue cash card for 3 yrs with 1k cl and i have amex everyday for 1 yr and 18k cl.so is it better to transfer some balnce from everyday to blue cash and request clinfrom blue cash?

I never asked for cli in the past

You can get only one CLI every 181 days. Period. Not one CLI PER card. The good news is that Amex CLIs tend to be quite generous.

Well...you can ask 45k and back down..if not approved. And then move whatever amounts to blue after.

AMEX is pretty generous. The only mistake people make is asking as soon as the card opens. They have to establish the relationship in order to offer more of their money to you.
