Hello! So I finished by app spree and now I'm trying to get some CLIs on my lowest cards.

Capital One is the lowest, $500 on each (Quicksilver one and Spark Classic).

Now, every single time that I ask for a CLI they deny me because of missing credit info from Equifax.

My EQ report is unlocked and there's no fraud or alerts whatsoever. Is there any actual backdoor number to call? I know that CapOne relies almost entirely on their systems, but there's something I can do.

Just in case, I app'd around 7 months ago for the PlayStation card, and stupid me got denied because I did have the EQ report locked. Could this be the reason? Maybe they still are using that old application report.

Thanks!

Yeah, I know they don't do recon but this is something of a report issue, they don't list anything else as a reason than the missing credit info.

I think I'll wait six months. If I do not get any Auto CLI or denied when asking, I'll close them. I'm getting better approval with higher lines already, so having a $500 CC with a $39 AF do not help. Same reason why I closed BofA.

My wife just got an auto CLI from $500 to $2500 and her score and report is lower and most utilized than mine, so I don't know.

Capital One doesn't recon, but it sounds like there's a technical issue keeping them from being able to access your credit reports.

This is the kind of thing (pretty much the only thing) that the Capital One EO can still sometimes assist with.

It wouldn't hurt to reach out to them to see if they can help... the worst they can do is say no.

(Check the backdoor sticky thread for instructions on reaching them... hint: you'll have to start by sending an email.)

I doubt they'd be using a report from that long ago, but I guess anything is possible.

They do not recon decisions, so don't waste your time on that one.

Since you plan on moving on from the card anyway, I wouldn't expend too much effort on the situation. Just accept that Capital One is an automated company and is unlikely to do any manual intervention. As mentioned the EO could (maybe) possibly help with this, but not sure I'd bother if you are getting better cards elsewhere now anyway.
