Denied for Care Credit. Apply again or Citi Bank?

I am trying to get approved for a Care Credit card. Apparently, this is very difficult. I am having a prodecure at the beginning of May that will cost around $4,500. I will be able to put around $3,000 down on the procedure. I need the rest of the procedure to be financed. I have applied for Care Credit once, maybe two weeks ago, and was denied. My Equifax is 653 and my Transunion is 666. I have a car loan through Honda Financial since Aug 2018. Every Payment has been made on time. I have a $10,000 personal loan through a local credit Union that is maybe two months old. I also have an Ameris Bank Credit card with a $500 CL and a Capital One Venture Card with a $2,000 CL. I think that I was denied because of my lack of credit depth. I would like some suggestions as to what to do next. I could apply for a Citi card (CreditKarma says fair approval) now and hope to get approved. I could wait and reapply for the Care Credit card (waiting 30 days to reapply). Do you think that I might be approved this next time? My score has improved some since the first application. Would it hurt my chances at a Care Credit card if I were to apply for the Citi card now? Anything helps. Thanks.

You might have a bit of a thin credit profile.. Don't take Credit Karmas advice on approvals.. Its sheer marketing and pretty close to meaningless....

Do you know your FICO scores, not Credit Karma FAKO scores... VantageScore will not help you in this situation generally....

I don't know my FICO scores. Is this needed? I have 98% on time payments. 3 recent inquiries in the past two years. 3 New accounts in the past 2 years. $2,170 avaliable credit. I could pay off the remainder of my capital one card, but it would lower the amount I would be able to put down on my procedure.

You should go out to the credit card pre-qualification sites - and see what you can get pre-approved...

Care credit is synchrony bank which is confirmed by me and my wife that Experian was pulled.

synchrony is using Experian where it used to be strictly Transunion. But ymmv

Was Experian pulled? That doesn’t show on credit karma.

The fico you listed is not high enough for care credit approval you're looking for and that wont change in 30 days.

That 98% positive payment history is more CK garbage, you either have delinquencies or not. There are no percentages involved.

Depending on how old your late payments are, Discover might be an option for you.

Experian is pulling two late payments by 30 days. I have checked some, not sure if my provider accepts disccover, though. Something I will have to check on.

Wasn’t sure of the thresholds for Care Credit. Kinda thought it was a bit low and @Remedios knew where I’d go next in recommending Discover and beat me to the punch

Your provider does not have to accept discover

If approved, with sufficient limit, you can do a BT to your checking account, pay provider with that money and make payments to discover like you would normally

I am going with disco BT if he's approved.

I doubt Citi would be approved with SL that OP needs.

Was approved for Chase Freedom card. 0% APR for first 15 months. $2,800 credit line. Thank you, everyone.
