BBVA Compass Clearpoints

They have been handing out this card like candy i received a pre qualified mailer on Wed sat on it until today. I filled out the App entered the reservation number entered my drivers license info. They sent a code in a text message to my phone verified that afterwards no instant approval everyone else was getting. I got the needs futher processing message the waiting begins.

Be sure to respond, perhaps even answer calls from numbers you don't recognize. There are often small discrepancies in their pre-selected (paid for) lists. Verify the info, panic while on hold for a few minutes, and enjoy your new card.

Hmmm. We’ve entered another BBVA app era lol and yet more people are getting the pending message now. What are you up to, BBVA? It could definitely be an approval so don’t be discouraged. Good luck!

@bigpoppa09Hear anything yet? I'm thinking they sent out so many mailers and so many people are app'ing maybe they're taking a bit of time now to review things a bit more.

I got in before the rush I guess, I app'd for the Clear Points 3/30 and got instant approval for $6100 SL. They have a branch near me and I've been thinking of opening bank accounts with them, and as luck would have it they now have a $250 SUB in branch in Arizona so I plan to stop by this week and open a checking account and move my direct deposit to them. Down the road they have a Rewards card that gives 2% cashback on all purchases when you have a DD with them, thinking it would be a nice compliment to my PayPal 2% Cashback card.

FYI, their mobile app is very good, you can enable push notifications for CC transactions, and has a "quick view" that you can see your balances without logging in.

Thanks for that info Dave i did hear back yesterday i got a email Congratulations your new card is on it's way no mention of starting limit so i guess i will have to wait for the card. That's why i haven't posted in approval section don't know limit.

Congrats! If you create an online account with BBVA you should be able to see your card & limit. With my instant approval it asked if I wanted to go ahead and set up an account and when I did I saw the card & limit there. You can even see the full CC account number, but you need to activate with the 3 digit code on the back before using it.

I had that same idea but when i tried to create account it asked for CC number which i don't have.

I had that same idea but when i tried to create account it asked for CC number which i don't have.

Ah! I guess since I created my account in the same online session as the app & approval it let me make the account without the CC #.

Congrats on the approval.

It seems they are aggressively marketing this card.

I was instantly approved for this card last week and was able to set up my online account at that time. No problem with the website.

Was able to set up my categories as well.

Definitely set the catagories up ASAP. I lost out on alot of double and tripple points.

Excellent point! Set the 3x & 2x categories before using the card, and I notice that it says if you don't set the categories by the start of the next quarter (July 1) you just get 1% on everything. But kudos to BBVA for having Medical as a bonus category, the first card I've seen that offers that category. Unfortunately medical & dental are a big spend category me for currently. And if your Walmart store codes a groceries as mine does you get double or tripple points there if you chose grocery as a bonus category, unlike Amex & Discover which always codes any Walmart store as 'discount store' for 1%.
