Anybody had luck doing PC for Amazon by Chase CC?

So I called Chase. I asked them for PC of my Amazon card by Chase. They told me I can't do it because Amazon card is not by Chase. This doesn't make sense but that is what they told me. Has anybody ever done PC for Chase Amazon credit card? Is this a new policy?

Do you have an Amazon card with the Visa logo on the card that you can use anywhere? That is through Chase. If not, you have an Amazon Store card which is only useable on Amazon. That card is through Synchrony not Chase.

+1... this exactly ^^^.

The Chase cobranded cards can only be PC'ed within the same family, i.e. IHG to IHG, Southwest to Southwest, etc.

Since there is no other type of Chase Amazon card it can't be PC'ed to anything (nor can anything be PC'ed to it).

There is definitely no ability to PC the Amazon card.

That said, keep in mind even cards that are "eligible" for PC doesn't mean you can always do the PC for whatever reason. PCs are never guaranteed. They're basically a courtesy at the discretion of the bank -- they don't have to let you do it. You apply for a certain product and they have every right not to let you switch it later. The point is that "ability to PC" is never really guaranteed no matter what the situation or card.

For instance Wells Fargo " allows" you to PC but in reality it isnt a PC as they close out the old card, insert a new one and even have the decency to hp

As an add, banks have legal contracts related to Co-Branded credit cards and generally are required to not take business from the contracting company (no p/c from Amazon to IHG etc as an example or a core card like the Chase FU card) to another.

Something not much talked about but, in some cases the companies have an arrangement to share in the card fees revenue and the risk losses.

How long have you had the card? Did your spend (Amazon) change or something?
