Background: score went up 200 points from opening account. At 750-760 around time of CLI Request. They gave me a $400 auto CLI January at one year.

Went for PC to Cash Rewards. Also asked for CLI since it was a SP. Denied. Reasons being insufficient use of current limit.

I put a few hundred at a time on it, but I usually pay it off within a few days. I let 0 report so maybe I should change that.

Not much you can do to influence a Discover cli. Best bet is to just use it and pif. Request every 3 months and see what their puter spits out. Not one of us can say with certainty does spend amount matter

Put more spend last quarter on card and my 2 year makr hits this month. Requested for cli and received $1,450 no pull. I'll take it!

Discover CLI’s vary wildly. I spent a little over $45K through my Discover in 12 months and got one small CLI, and that’s it. As much as I spent on it, only have one card with a smaller CL that it has. I never carried a balance on it and always PIF.

As far as Disco CLIs go, you may need tarot cards, ouija board, tea leaves, voodoo doll made out of shredded credit cards, and probably a goat if you're looking for accurate data.
Some of their unpredictability probably comes from ABS, so future success is somewhat predetermined at the time of approval, but to a lesser extent than Cap One and their ABS model.
Some see decent increases with a lot of use, some with minimal use. Some cannot get a CLI for years, while others will receive several during a calendar year. I'm one of those.
There were times when card was used rather heavily. Since last April, I've used it once (in error), yet ive gotten CLIs totalling $11,500.00 since June.
Probably the best way to go about it is just use your card like you normally would, when it makes sense financially. Ask once a month, but wait a few days after statement is ready.
Most of auto increases happen a few days after the statement, so no need to waste request if you were already supposed to get one.
Other than that, there isn't much else you can do. Some members have reported getting increases at some point while they carried a BT, or after BT was paid off.
