CSR In Branch Pre-Approval 30 Days?!

Ok so went to Chase today to deposit some cash. Asked the teller if I had any offers (like I always do lol) and she said yes...ALL of them!.

Sat down with a banker and said all cards are "Pre-Approved" and saw it on his screen. I said well lets go for the CSR since I have wanted that.

He put in my info and came back more info needed...of course. He called in and had to speak to Fraud/Verification and they sent me a text message, then I anxiously waited for the results and she said, more time needed. The banker was shocked because he said mine was the first not instant approval since the Pre-Approvals are apparently solid. Went home and called the automated line and says "30 Days" which I guess I have a "chance" so to speak. Heads up I am wayyy over 5/24 and have a ton of inq on my credit (32 inq) but at a 714 FICO8 EX which they pulled so I assumed this would happen.

Has anyone else gotten this from a In Branch Pre-Approval then not getting and instant decision?

Yup, I did. It resolved itself once it went through its verification paces. To me, it was pretty standard whenever additional vetting would be required.

Then again, I typically let things ride for obvious reasons.

How long did you wait until you got approved? I talked to the lady from fraud and she pushed it though but said needed more time...

It definitely didn't take the entire 30 days, but IIRC it was less than a week.

IMO, just let it play out. If you have online banking access, you can periodically check to see once it loads to your profile. That's usually an indication that it's on its way.

Ok yeah that's what I have been checking. Are the Pre-Approvals pretty solid in branch? Also a little worried about AA since I had a mini spree and have a lot of cards the last two years.

IME, they've been pretty solid but then again we don't know much about your profile. I'm assuming that you haven't been approved for another Chase CC in the past 30-45 days?

If you haven't gone bezerk with a lot of new accounts in the past 6 months I would think you'd be ok

Got the Ritz card last year in April that was the last one. Never tried with Chase because I am always over 5/24 lol. I did open a chase checking early last year and have had it primarily for this reason for the chance at a Pre-Approval plus they gave me $300. Gotten maybe about 4 cards last 6 months or so.

It could definitely be an approval, so don’t give up hope yet. I agree that it’s annoying that you have to wait a month to hear anything. Maybe keep trying to call?

I'm hoping. I've read a lot of threads with people that got pre-approval's and most did result in an approval, though suprisingly some did not. Two threads had same thing..pre-approval in branch, verification, then needed more time and turned down. I've wanted the CSR for a few years but knew it was un-attainable unless I don't apply for two years for anything or just get a Chase checking and wait for a pre-approval...but I am expecting the worse as it always seems to go.

Just weird that even after verification still was a waiting game...you'd think "Hey I'm in the branch, got the text code....and a pre-approval!" Just hope it doesn't go to some Analyst that's in a $%ttyy mood and is like "Man, he's got a bunch of cards, yeah in the trash this goes!". Yes I have a bunch of cards, but all paid on time and most are all 0%Util and overall 9% Util with the exception of a few cards that have BTon them. I've learned the hard way DO NOT call if 30 days to analyst..everytime I did they grilled me so much I felt depressed after the all, like geez, lol

30 days just means that they haven't finished processing the application yet, don't read too much into it.

Call the automated line daily to check on status. If it changes to 14 days odds are on the order of 99% that an approval is forthcoming.

If it changes to 7-10 days be prepared to call and try to talk your way into a successful recon.

From what I have read the consensus is 5-7 days for an answer, but who knows. I'm trying to stay optimistic but expecting

Just give it time. It'll sort itself out. No need to drive yourself bonkers on thinking the worst or overanalyzing their internal processes.

Generally speaking, and per lots of reported DPs, the 30-day message is typically a good sign.

I've been waiting a week, but that's with the weekend included. I'm LOL/24 with a dozen inq, but was pre-approved, so I rolled the dice too.

3117 # says "2 weeks" but the 2586 # says "30 days" When I called in, multiple times, I don't get grilled or asked a dozen questions, they just put me on hold, read the previous rep's notes, and say the same canned BS. This was on the "fraud" #, recon #, and "verification" #, I suspect all of which are the same dept or low end CSR's that keep referring to the app being reviewed in the "back office" which is likely the real analysts/UW. Which of course, aren't accessible, since they work in a windowless room without a computer or phone. Last rep said end of this week or early next, but that's obv his way of telling me to piss off since he's seen the half dozen prior calls or he didn't like that I called him out on the incoherent and convoluted canned BS he's reading without verifying. It's the "can't speak on the previous rep you spoke to" yet they do when they read the notes.

Just checked like 15 min ago and still said 30 days, then 5 minutes later I got an alert from Intuit Mint app that I have from Chase saying that a new account had been added to Chase? I was like what the? So sure enough I logged in and there it was.
