Barclays Denial

Lurker of many years here. I recently applied for the Choice Privileges card from Barclays and was given the 10 day notice. I called the backdoor # an hour later and was officially denied. Reason was too many accounts in 2 years. I'm not surprised, I've been on a tear recently. I bought a house last May and started applying the day I closed. I explained that one was their card and one was an AU account, but that didnt help.
Oh well, my first denial ever. After the call I applied for Hilton Honors and was approved

Sorry about your denial. They jacked my spouse around on a Ring app a year or so ago so we stay far away from them now. Since you have a history with them maybe try again later. Good luck.

Meh... If Barclays wants to sit on the sidelines, let them. They can be more of a headache than they're worth with their hair trigger AA.

Barclays have gotten more strict recently on underwriting for new accounts. DPs suggest they may have something similar to 5/24 for many of their products now.
