CSP Application Went to 30 Day Review - UPDATE! Denied!

Went against my better judgement and fell for the infamous "Selected For You Offer" The CSP was one of my long term goal card and was going to wait until next year since I had been very good at spacing out my applications a year apart. I was approved for the CFU back in March but had a checking and savings account with Chase for over a year. Last Tuesday, when I logged in to pay my CFU bill, there was a green check mark for the CSP only, which said selected for you. Checked it out and saw a fixed APR 22.74% (high I know) but I do PIF on high interest cards so that was not so much of a problem. Did not pull the trigger that day, and was forcing myself to hold off on applying, but alas, I gave in and pulled the trigger yesterday and of course it went to the further review process. Oh well, I should have waited for next year : (

Currently 3/24 with 1% overall UTI and AoYA is 4 months (CFU) AAoA 1 year 11 mos. They HP'd EX/TU again. Hope something comes of of it

Update: 07-25-2019

30 day msg. Just changed to 7 - 10 days around 4:46pm. Called to speak to a credit analyst and after verification, she placed me on hold for 3 mins and came back to inform me that the application is denied. Denied due to the following reasons:

- Too few accounts on file for a sufficient length of time

- Insufficient credit information

- Oldest account has not been open long enough

I opted not to move forward with recon and will keep it as is, i've read the horror stories of accounts getting closed after accepted these offers and I'm just glad the denial wasn't about Unsatisfactory relationship with Chase which ultimately will close my CFU. I was suprised to receive that offer and got ahead of myself. I think I will accept the decision and will try my luck again, once my AAoA is past 2 years.

We are going in branch today to submit documents.

I believe she will be approved. Just gotta give em what they want

Looks like an approval. Otherwise, they won't bother asking for documentation. Keep us posted and don't forget to share your DP's once approved.

You can always call Chase and finalize your application otherwise you may have to wait 10 days for a letter that says give us a call

I'd probably give it till next week and then call if nothing changes. I can wait, serves me right for jumping the gun too early.

30 days usually leads to an approval!

30 days just means they still haven't completed their assessment, it's not a clear indicator of the outcome. It's a change to 14 days that usually leads to an approval.

A change from 30 days to 7-10 days isn't always a denial either. It can also mean they need additional verification before making a final decision.

Sorry to hear the final outcome was not in your favor, OP.

Just goes to show you that even though some may have mentioned "approved" from the get-go, it's not always a sure thing. Things are always YEMV.

That said, your DPs and experience can certainly help others when planning an application. On the upside, you still have the open 'slot' and you can try for it again once your profile has aged considerably.

That's why I opted to post the results here, also as a forewarning to those who have slightly similar profiles like myself. I lucked out for getting to keep my CFU and my checking accounts open. I am certain I went through the PRR process. But they explained that, looking at my report, they don't see me using my credit cards a lot, so they were wondering why I was trying to apply for more credit. That and my young profile of course. I didn't proceed with recon since I did realize (after the fact) that aging my profile is much more important than a new shiny. The CSP will remain as one of my goal cards and will come back for it once my profile has more history to it.

Thanks @hawkins, in the interim, I can enjoy my CFU that survived . Considered myself lucky since others have been met with account closures following an application.
