Apple Card App decision: "We are unable to verify your identification information"

""Update"" After 5 months of apps resulting the same message, today

out of the blue the system didn't ask for my I.D and was approved

for $6000 @ 20.99%!

"Transunion Fico 8: 724"

I got an invitation and decided to apply but half way

I got the above mentioned notification and had to abonden the application!

I did get an email right after saying if our dicision is in error, apply again.

The strange thing is they didn't pull any of my CRA files and I know all

my info are up to date on all 3 CRA.

I'm not even sure if I should apply again.

Any input is much appreciated.

i seen where they use corelogic and checksystems too so it may be a mixed up on those file

everything i apply and they use a outside bureau like them i get denied .

i know i have nothing deliquent on chex too

They do soft pulls. When accepting, it becomes hard pull.

Have you tried calling any CS reps? I have not received an invite, but surely there has to be a number somewhere you can call to complete the verification.

This made me laugh and I’m not laughing at you, just the situation is funny.

Is it possible that you have a credit Freeze or lock on with TU, Equifax, Experian or Innovis? Also, are you opted in for pre-approvals on CC’s? I have run into this situation in the past and found that to be the problem.

Yes & yes!

But I did unlock all 3 files before I applied and I will "Opt-Out"

of pre-approvals if that could be the problem.

No don’t opt out, that will cause you to lose prequals.

You only have to unlock/unfreeze TU.

For clarification, you go through the application process, the do a SP, and then they approve you with APR and CL. Then they will HP when you accept?

@sjt Yes, once you accept their offer, you will have access to your card. A few hours later, which may vary depending on who it is and other variables, you will see a HP come in on your TU. Some people avoided the HP by locking their credit after the accept but I don’t think I would recommend that. You wouldn’t want to be closed on.

So if I apply and am approved but I don't like the CL and/or APR I could decline and would not get an HP.

Well that was the way it was prior to going public. I hope it still applies but don't know for sure.

Not sure if a fluke or not but my friend never saw limit just apr, she had to upload DL then hit apply or accept not sure exact wording before she saw limit.

Well kinda stinks if they change that it is very helpful and nice to see beforehand I would think .

@sjt Yep, assuming apple is still conducting business in the same way since they went public with the card you could technically see your offer and one credit score (FICO 9, assuming it’s TU but not up to speed on that) before you accept and incur a HP.

Hi so I'm having trouble with the apple card application...I applied multiple times because my phone was acting weird. Now when I apply it says we can't verify you....I called and spoke with a Apple card specialist and asked how do I reapply or could I?....He checked and said I could but couldn't tell a specfic time...?!!!...Can anyone help with thi...Thanks so much..I reallly WANT this card....TU score is 750....

So I know this might be something you have already done but if you shut your phone down and reboot it like a hard reboot back up you phone before doing the hard reboot that may fix the whole I can’t find you or verify you since it’s done through the wallet app on your phone ???
