I know chase has the 5/24 rule, but does that include auto applications or just credit card apps? I looked at & app'd but didnt buy a vehicle in Dec, and purchased/app'd finally in February. If thats going to tank me, Ill skip the southwest card app for now.

Also, does anyone have input on which southwest card type is most likely to approve? Im sitting between 720 & 750 depending on bureau, 5k limit on amazon prime at chase. DTI of under 9%.

5 new cards including AU accounts in 24 months.

I've done the tug-o-war debating on picking up a SWA card before and after much thought decided a CSP was better for earning UR's instead of SWA points. With a CSP / CSR you can earn points and transfer them over to airlines if that's what you want to do. The only perks SWA CC offers is the ease of keeping your points thorugh swipes and exxxtra earnings on SWA purchases. You can keep your points by using their RRdining site by adding your existing cards to your profile and then just using them when you eat out. If you aren't hitting places listed for the program then just go lookup a place to eat that is included to try some place new.

If you're not using Amazon as much as you thought you would it's possible to PC to something else. 5K limit is the minimum for a CSP and there are other options as well w/o the transfer option like CF/CFU to earn points in the meantime.

Gotcha. Southwest is the only domestic carrier I fly, and cancer treatment requires RT flight for every scan/dr visit, thus its most useful for me. While Im not flying weekly like I used to, i anticipate being back up to 15-20 domestic RTs annually soon.

My int'l travel varies wildly, which is the only place another travel point card would help.. though Ive recently esrablished my int'l banking, and am more likely to pay for those flights that way & save conversion loss (i frequent foreign carriers that are euro billers).

I think I'll likely wait a month til 2 more accts age off for good measure though (correction, 3 will age off). Im at the 5/24 now BUT given I twice appd for car buys, despite only buying/opening auto acct once, Ill give it a lil more wiggle room.

Anyone know which bureau Chase pulls for SW card?

Well, if that's the case and you're buying directly from SWA then it makes sense.

(they don't share their API with other travel sites anyway)

Rack up the points for a celebration trip when the treatments are done.

As to the pulls... any time I deal w/ Chase it's EQ/EX double pulls on new apps and usually the same.

I know every once in awhile they bump the bonus over 60K but, they've been a bit stingy sitting at 40K for awhile.

https://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/best-credit-card-sign-up-offers/#ChaseTop

Taking into account the features vs AF they earn at the same rate, the anniversary points vary by AF, and the lowest tier has FTF's

https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/credit-cards/which-southwest-airlines-credit-card-to-choose/

Looking at my cards, after Sept 4, the only new accounts period in last 24 mo are
PNC
5/3rd
Menards/Cap 1
Victorias Secret
NTB (tire shop)
Samsung (phone financing)
BMO (auto loan)

I looked at the list of 'cards that count toward 5/24' and PNC, 5/3 & likely Menards (since its cap 1 issued) will definitely register.

Unsure about samsung all goods, ntb, vicki's though. If those are likely to count, I guess Ill garden a few more months til pnc & samsung age off.
