Future US Bank app.

I am gardening for 8-12 months. When I have completed my time in the “pen” I would like to go for the my first Us Bank card as I have read they can be inquiry and new account sensitive.

So my question is does US Bank look at the last 6/12 or 24 months as far as new accounts and inquires ?

I’m just trying to gauge how long I’ll have to ride out the garden to be able to have a reasonable shot with them. Plus my last baddies will drop off before my stent in the garden is over ( hopefully I can hold out that long lol )

When I app’d, they told me I had too many new accounts in the past 12 months. I was 0/6 as my BCE hadn’t reported yet

When i got my cash+ i was 4/12 and 1/6 and got a sl of $1,000.

Ok thank you for the reply. Maybe I’ll extend my garden time until I’m 0/12 inquiries and new accounts.

I have seen they can be stingy on SL, but I believe they are a relationship bank as well. Maybe I should open a small checking account with them to improve my odds.

It definitely won't hurt to do that! As long as you're not georestricted I'd say go for it

US Bank is very much a relationship bank, so if you wanted to open a bank account with them, it would definitely help.

The last time I talked with a CSR, they looked at the last 12 months, and wanted you to be under 3/12. As always, YMMV and things can change between now and when you app. Good luck on your future app!

Ok perfect I will wait till I’m at 1/12 accounts possibly. The only thing I may add is a boat loan prior to my Us Bank app. But this will be quite a few months away.

I will look into their banking accounts and grab a small checking account after the holidays, and do something like $50 a week in it until I app. Just to get a relationship established.
