CSP: “You’re Already Approved” & “Pre-Selected” Offers

Hi MyFico fam,

So I’ve stated somewhere in another post that I’ve been receiving multiple offers through the Chase app. Offers which say, “You’re Already Approved.” One of these offers being CSP which happens to be a goal card of mine. However, today I received a Pre-Selected marketing offer in the mail for CSP. Both of these offers (through their app and through mailing), showing the same solid APR. If I were to apply, should I go with my “You’re Already Approved” offer or go the invitation route online?

I would personally go through the app and use the one that has the black star or check marks. That’s what I did and it worked well for me.

If you are physically able to go into a Chase branch and speak to a personal banker,

ask what you are already approved for. I feel in branch is the most solid of them all.

Given everything in your siggy, I say you have a very good chance. I think you are ripe for your goal card

I had a pre-selected offer online from Chase for the CSP last year. I was waiting to apply for the card since I was lol/24.

But with the offer, I applied and was instantly approved.

Didn’t apply yet. Waiting till I reach my garden goal. Hopefully a can make it until then lol

If you want or need the card, I would just go for it. Your AoYA will reset regardless of when you apply. Is there a prize for 2 years of Gardening?

I agree with Smart007, going in will provide more info to make a decision on. And possibly what the SL will be.

What exactly is your garden goal though?

AoYA is over 12, no HP in last 12 months, and you seem to be under 5/24. Since you only have 4 CC's.

I think if you go in and test the waters without a HP, you might get sense of where you stand. The sooner you get your goal cards, the sooner you can age your file.

Nothing wrong with that notion OP. I would say do what's best for you. You don't have to give in to peer pressure 😁. For instance, I would jump on the Chase and Gold Card opportunities because I'm a sucker for these things, but on the other hand I would respect someone else's choice if they prefer to wait. At the end of the day, it's your profile and you came here for advice regarding the pre-approved/approved offer.

You can always run the numbers to determine about hitting the minimum spend for both goal cards and decide from there. Either way, when you're ready, best of luck!
