Hello there everyone.

i currently have three cards in my name and one AU. My credit history length average is 2.5 years with the AU weighted. Without the AU weighted it's about 4 months.

Credit Karma scores are 719/691

Experian Score via credit one is 729

DTI is lower than 15% .

the AU card is Sync Lowe's for about $8k it's 7 years old with 2% UTL

Ive had a Sync Payboo /B&H card for 2 months. A few thousand and UTL is less than 1%

i have a capital one platinum for a few thousand that's no reporting I guess because I didn't have a balance?

my oldest card is a credit one card. It's less than 6 months old and credit limit is less than one thousand. UTL is 0%

first card was with credit one. I think I had no score at all when I applied with them. They gave me a $400 card with a ridiculous interest rate. I use the card for gas and PIF about 5 to 7 days after purchases because the card has no grace period. They did an auto CLI at the third month mark.

I tried the preq with Discover was declined because of short history and two many inquiries 5 ( cap one is 3 of them )

did preq for Amex, no offers.

i just want a few more cards to add early and then garden for a year.

i was thinking I'd have luck again with sync but unsure? Is it too soon to apply again? I just got the Payboo card less than 60 days ago.

My ideal cards would be

Adorama store card issued by cominty bank

B&H store card by Sync for no interest terms

Amazon

im a new media creative. I purchase lots of products from the above stores. I'd like to build credit relationships with them.

Starting this summer I will be traveling often outside of the US for business. I'd love to get a good travel card.

thanks!

You currently have 3 cards....l would wait till the sync card is at least 6 months old before getting another sync card.

Edit: As other posters are chiming in on their experience, we must keep in mind that op has a thin and young file.
Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should.

Thanks for the input. I suppose I will wait and just garden and try for CLI... I'll app for care credit sometime this summer. It's a card I could use for dental work.

Yeah Sync doesn't really seem to be bothered by two cards in a short period of time. I grabbed Amazon and then PayPal Cashback a week later, Payboo five months after that, CareCredit two months later, and Marvel two months after.

Totally not advocating the run on Sync cards that I did but I don't see an issue grabbing a second one.

Keep in mind that waiting will likely get you better limits though.

Thank you for the feedback! I prefer B&H they are just amazing all around. I get whatever I can from them. But Adorama has their private label Lighting and grip gear that I buy a ton of. Last year alone I spent well over $10k cash with Adorama. B&H I probably only spent 20% of that amount. I rarely shop Amazon. I'd like to renew my macbooks and iMacs this year and from what I can tell, Amazon normally has the lowest prices but I'd rather go with B&H.

I'd be tempted to use the Adorama card far more frequently than the B&H or Amazon because Adorama is always putting out great lighting and grip gear that I want. I used to shop Amazon a lot for toys and a bunch of other random items. The B&H card would serve a direct, purpose for two very specific items and nothing more until they are paid off. The Adorama and Amazon would get much more burn.

im sorry for rambling. I wanted to type my honest thoughts about what I wanted this credit for. This way you can offer the best advice possible.

Wow thank you! Your experience, although it may very from my own, is very encouraging! I really want the B&H zero financing card. Off topic but do you think I should wait until they give me a bump in limit on my Payboo? In your experience, do they CLI Payboo sooner than 5 months? I haven't used it much at all. Two small purchases. The limit is too small for me to get what I really want without maxing the card out. With my limit I could get only 1 new iMac but I'd have only a few bucks left. I don't want to get in the habit of maxing cards out even if I pay before statement cuts. I just have a feeling that with my very thin and very young credit file, would spook the credit card companies.

Synchrony gave me a bump from my initial $5K to $7500 2 months after I got the card despite only making a single $300 purchase with it. They can be very generous but you and I have totally different profiles so you obviously can't extrapolate the same success I did. I was just pointing out that despite having a bankruptcy and derogs bringing my TU to 640, Sync approved me for my first two cards within a week of each other. The story isn't really unusual with them.

If Adorama gets more money from you, I would get that card first and then garden for 6 months. Whatever you get next, my suggestion is definitely to garden for 6 months to let the accounts age. I would think it would actually benefit you to get the Comenity card instead of another Sync card so you can build a relationship with both of them.

I was approved for approx 10-12 Synch cards in a 90 day periiod

(2015 I think) with a 675ish TU

I dont suggest doing this but Synch liked me alot back then. Just be honest with the income you declare

Ok. Thank you for the advice. If I remember correctly, I tried the shopping cart trick on way fair/comity back a few months ago when I only had credit one. They declined me. I wanted the card for building purposes and because I did see myself using it To purchase items for set build outs. I was thinking maybe I would get a family member to add me on a card as an AU. Something with at least 10 years history and 25k plus limit. That should help my AAoA, right? I was thinking of doing this and gardening for 6 months... I don't necessarily need any new cards I did want the option of keeping more of my cash liquid while paying on large purchases with no interest rates... I'm so new to this all. I really don't know the best approach. I do appreciate all of your advice and tips.

It really depends on the lender but many disregard AU accounts entirely when they view your profile. You have a decent start already. AUs will help with some lenders but I don't know about Synchrony and Comenity specifically. If you got declined after submitting a SCT app, probably best to just stick with what you have until you have a bit more age.
